Donna Sammarco's second solo piano album Here I Am, Lord is a triumph in many ways. Her strong faith and talented hands come shining through again on an all instrumental inspirational set of songs.
Donna overcame some physical hurdles to make the release complete and it stands as a testament to her steadfast belief in her own talents and deep abiding spiritual connection to a higher power whom she chooses to call the Lord.
The title says it all for the artist. Donna is conveying to her Lord and audience that she is alive and well and ready to serve and her music is the perfect message carrier. Even though not a word is uttered, the piano does all the talking, each track giving you a slice of heaven telegraphed through Donna's fingers to the keyboard. The message is clear, you can connect with a power greater than yourself, and all you have to do is let the music take you there.
This type of instrumental music could be classified as adult contemporary, new age, and a few other things but essentially it is solo piano music, and very inspirational at that. The listener can shed the worries of the day, get grounded again and come to realize that the most important things in life are right in front of you, not your work that supports you and your family, the time you spend with them and the spiritual connection and love in your soul that can and should be shared with those you love daily. This is what our Lord desires and knows will bring us happiness.
This is music from the heavens, a gift from God to Donna that comes to you in this wonderful CD. It is a pity that most of us get so caught up in superficial things and our work so that we forget from whence we came. Fortunately there are gifted and spiritual souls like Donna Sammarco that are willing to share a message with those willing to listen. If you do listen to this music the answers that you are looking for will be obvious because what you are really listening to besides the music is your heart, in another words, saying with conviction Here I Am, Lord.
