Dove Heat Defense Heat Activated Protect and Shine Mist Review

I'm one of those people who avoid using blow dryers, curlers and irons on my hair for fear that it would damage my beautiful locks. I don't care what people say about all these "special" styling products that won't harm my hair. I own a hair dryer that has an ion option that's suppose to keep moisture in my hair and yet my hair still feels dry after using it. I won't even mention how many split ends I've gotten from it. Then I discovered that there are hair products that are designed to be used with heat to prevent damage. I wasn't sure which product to go with because there are so many out there. I did some research and a lot of my makeup gurus mentioned that they use Dove Heat Defense Heat Activated Protect and Shine mist, so I gave it shot.

I've been using Dove's Heat Defense protect and shine mist for several months now and I really like it. There are several things I like about this product. I like that's affordable and easy to find. It's not some fancy product I can only order or get from a salon. I'm not cheap but I'm also not the type of person that would buy something because it's expensive thinking it's the best. I like to consider myself a smart shopper and try to find a product that works for me and is the best price out there. The other aspects that I liked about Dove's Heat Defense protect and shine mist is that it smells nice and isn't sticky. I was expecting it to feel sort of like light hairspray or mouse but it's not at all sticky. It's also an easy product to use. There's no special technique to it, just spray it on and blow dry, iron or curl. I really liked that it didn't irritate my scalp either. I seem to be allergic to certain hair products which causes me to break out. As I said earlier, I've been using this product for several months now and I find that it really does protect my hair from heat and makes it shiny. It's also moisturizing. When I wash my hair I sometimes have to comb through it to get any tangles out, but with this product my hair pretty much untangles itself in the shower.

The downside of Dove's Heat Defense protect and shine mist is that I have to wash my hair pretty much every day that I've used it. If I don't wash my hair it'll get really greasy and heavy by the second day. I've also noticed that it doesn't keep my hair straight if I decide to clip it up. I have very straight long hair and I tend twirl it and clip it up to keep it out of my face. When I take the clip out my hair always comes down straight, just like the way I had it before I clipped it up. With Dove's Heat Defense protect and shine I've noticed that after taking my clip out or untying my hair, my hair doesn't go back to it's original state instead it has dents and waves in it.

Despite some of the negatives to this product, which really isn't that big of a deal, I really liked this product. It's definitely a keeper for me, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a heat defense product. Why pay for more when you don't have to?
