Effects of Alcohol and Methadone

Methadone is a non-complex synthetic compound. It acts very much like a natural opiates on the body system, and it is in the opiods class. It is stored and absorbed into the body, and then it goes into the bloodstream. It can affect people differently. It affects the body and the brain. Properly used it is used as a narcotic pain reliever. Alcohol and methadone are both central nervous depressants, and when they are used together it is very dangerous. There are many serious effects of using Methadone and alcohol together, and if a person experiences any of these symptoms call 911 immediately for help.

Respiratory

It slows down the breathing process so that a person has trouble breathing.

Pain

There is lots of pain mainly in the chest.

Hallucinations

People can be confused and have hallucinations.

Dizziness

A person can be so dizzy that they could faint and get hurt.

Cardiac

The heart begins to beat faster, and it can give a person cardiac issues.

Death

Mixing alcohol and methadone can many times lead to death.
