My Hallmark Ornaments Wish List

While researching Christmas ornaments for my Hallmark article, I started to think about what other types of ornaments I wish they would make. Hallmark has some of my favorite characters from Star Wars, Disney and Harry Potter, but what about other characters and fandoms I love? Here's a list of strange, geeky and awesome Christmas ornaments that will probably never be mainstream.

Watchmen: Spiderman, Superman and Batman are cool and they all have Hallmark ornament. I really love the Watchmen graphic novel and movie, though. I would proudly display a lovely Dr. Manhattan in a Santa hat on my tree. How about Rorschach getting a present from Nite Owl? An original Minutemen photo ornament would be great too.

Harry Potter: The ornament on my Hallmark list is nice, but I would like something different then the usual Potter offerings. Anything with Snape would do, please. I also like Voldemort and the Death Eaters. How about a Dark Mark ornament or a tiny Death Eater figure with a mask and robe? Some book scenes would be amazing. I would go crazy over a replica of Spinner's End or Voldemort being reborn.

Characters from my Favorite Video Games: I love the old arcade Galaga Christmas ornament that Hallmark has, but it's not one of my favorite games. I would prefer a Vault Boy ornament from Fallout 3. How about a Big Daddy from Bioshock or Alma from F.E.A.R.? A great ornament would be the original Resident Evil zombies, maybe with Santa hats.

Metalocalypse: Hallmark has ornaments from TV shows, so where's my favorite shows like Metalocalypse? This adult swim cartoon follows the adventures of the world's biggest metal band, Dethklok. I would love Christmas ornaments of them. A set including all five band members would be great. Since they have two CDs, the ornaments could play clips of their songs.

The Venture Bros.: Another awesome adult swim cartoon I would like to see Christmas ornaments from. There could be multiple sets, one with the Venture family and one with The Monarch, henchmen and Cocoon. There is even a Venture Bros. Christmas special, so why not focus on scenes from that episode?

I doubt these ideas would ever be mainstream Hallmark type Christmas ornaments. Maybe one day I'll get lucky and find some of them. Until then, I can always dream and decorate my Christmas tree with its usual mixture of Halloween decorations and absinthe spoons.
