The cranberry sauce component at Thanksgiving or Christmas Dinner is comparable to the cherry on top of the Sunday. Here is an easy recipe for cranberry sauce that will put that jellied-can cranberry sauce out of it's misery.

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

* 1 cup of sugar or 1/2c of splenda
* 1 cup of orange juice
* 1 tsp. of orange and or lime zest
* 1 12oz bag of fresh cranberries (remove all stems)

1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar, orange juice and zest
2. Add the cranberries and cook for about ten minutes until they start to pop. Once they start popping, eyeball the consistency and pull off stove.
3. Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl, stir often; sauce will thicken as it cools.
