A Great Way to Expel a Great Amount of Laughter from Your Mouth

I feel completely jubilant, now that I have completed watching "Hot Fuzz".

"Hot Fuzz" is the supreme standard of how a comedic parody should be. This film was chock full of funny portions, yet it did not forsake proper attention to the rest of the meaningful facets. Next to the humor was a solid story, detailed character development, and a persistent allegiance to making a film that is sturdy in all its portions.

Unlike most of the "spoofs" that have arrived at American movie screens, this film does not rely on absurd slapstick gags or incoherent shtick that lacks all wit.

What it does deliver, is invigorating sagacious humor, that does not dumb down its content for its audience. Rather it holds complete confidence, that the viewers will be able to comprehend its content that is full of delicious creativity and wit.

"Hot Fuzz" is a satirical parody of buddy cop action flicks. It features the dynamic duo Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, from the brilliant zombie lampoon called "Shaun of the Dead" which was released in 2004.

It contains this story:

Nicholas Angel is the most productive police officer in the land of London, holding the finest arrest record in the entire force. He is so exceptional that he puts the rest of the crew to shame. As a result, Nicholas' superiors transfer him to a location where his talent won't result in great embarrassment. He is exiled to the crimeless village of Sandford. Once there, he is paired with a well intentioned but also childlike overdrinking police officer named Danny Butterman, who is the son of Police Chief Frank Butterman. Danny is an action movie fan which include such buddy flicks as: "Bad Boys" and "Point Break", and he believes that his new big-city partner may be the one to teach him how to be a real life action cop, who jumps into gunfights and car chases.

Angel expeditiously repels the childlike Danny, and in dealing with him, he receives nothing but growing frustration.

Yet, as a series of horrendous "accidents" occur in the village, Angel is assured that Sandford is not the safe location is seems to be, and that the deaths of locals are a result of something equally horrendous.

A realization that leads to the buddy becoming of Danny and Angel, and a trip into high-octane, car chasing, gun fighting, and some small time cops delivering big time justice.

"Hot Fuzz" is a solid film. At certain points it feels like not a mimicry but an actual serious action film. That is what makes it great, it is creative, funny, consistent, and remembers what it means to create a complete product, which is attention to detail.

The camera work is impressive, utilizing a creative style of direction that contains great fluidity, that you would expect not from a comedy but a dramatic film.

The acting portions are clamorous, but still containing a solid amount of substance.

Also the screenplay is funny all around, never lagging in its wit and always giving you something of humor to feast on. Its a brilliant smart comedy that resonates with jubilant energy.

The music soundtrack used, was perfect for setting the mood in each scene. It delivered surprising emotion and feeling, to moments that other wise may not have had, the continuity that it did contain.

The action portions are highly enjoyable. It contains the type of explosive elements that buddy cop movies hold. The perfect thing however, is the sweet form that the humor and action was fused together. It felt correct the entire ride thru.

A final note for those who care to know: In a small portion of the film there is heavy usage of the F.Y. bad word. Also, there is heavy drinking found in this film. Oh and a big aspect of the film is the gross delivery of murders, they are massively bloody and greatly grotesque.

Also, something to consider that is very important, is the fact, that this film is fully loaded with massive funny content and it delivers a fantastic fun viewing time.
