The latest disappointment came in the last game away to Bristol city. Norwich, once again dominated the game, but their inability to score a goal cost them dear. Not only did this mean, they failed to win the game, but they actually ended up losing it. The reality of this season is, no matter how well Norwich plays, if they can't find a way of scoring goals on a regular basis, they will struggle.
The gamesdon't get any easier for Norwich city because next up they have a tough game against league leaders wolves. However, a few days after the wolves' game the Canaries have a real opportunity with a home game against Doncaster Rovers. Doncaster is in the relegation zone and one of the favourites to be relegated this season. Therefore this is an excellent opportunity for Norwich to prove they really are too good to go down.
Last season Norwich was very disappointing but always had players who could bail them out of trouble. For instance, Jamie Cureton scored 14 goals, and Huckerby was around to make something from nothing. The worrying thing this season is Norwich has no such options. In fact, Cureton is in the reserves and Huckerby is currently on a Californian beach. However, this season Norwich is playing much better football and it's the kind of football that should produce goals.
There is no doubt Norwich have been unlucky this season. It is my opinion, Glenn Roeder hasn't helped himself for one thing he has acquired too many loan players. By doing this, he has created pressure from premier league managers to use these players when it wouldn't benefit the team. This also means the Norwich city youngsters' chances have become limited. The other problem that this has created is the constant changing of the team, which is not conducive to a successful team.
Overall Glenn Roeder has some excellent ideas and has gone about the job in the right way. I do now think that it is time to play his best team for the next four or five games to try to get us out of trouble. If results carry on in a similar vein than Norwich city will become a club in crisis. Currently, we are not but a few more bad results and we will be.
