Peanut Butter M & M Oatmeal Cookies in a Jar

2 c. oatmeal-not quick oatmeal

1 c. brown sugar

1/2 c. baking M & M's

1/3 c. granulated sugar

1/2 tsp soda

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 c. mini chocolate chips

layer the ingredients in your quart size canning jar, starting with the oatmeal

For a gift place a round piece of printed material over top of jar and tie a bow around the jar! Add A little homemade card with the baking instructions on it.

Baking Instructions

Creams together:

1/4 c. butter or margarine

1/2 c. peanut butter

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla

Slowly add dry ingredients and mix well. Spoon into one inch balls on a greased cookie sheet. Flatten cookies with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 375 for 11 to 12 minutes. Let stand for a minute or two. Remove from cookie sheet and cool. Makes 3 to 4 dozen!
