Plantain fritters easy to make. They are not as soft or sweet as the banana fruit look-a-like. Unlike a regular banana that is peeled and eaten raw, Plantains usually are cooked or fried. Plantain fritters can be enjoyed as a side to a meat or poultry dish, or as an appetizer or dessert topped with ice cream. Yummy!

Things You'll Need:

Fully ripe plantains
1 cup Enriched Flour
1 TBS sugar
1/4 cup black sesame seeds
1/8 tsp Baking soda
1/4 cup Water
small pinch of Salt Oil

1. Buy your plantains at the produce department of any supermarket or in an outdoor fruit market. Plantain fritters are cheap and easy to make. Fry the fritters by first peeling the outer skin and cut the plantains diagonally and evenly into one inch slices or in quarters according to taste and look desired. They should not retain the round banana look but be slightly flat.

2. Mix all the dry ingredients together and slowly add water to it. Stir slowly to remove all lumps that might occur. The batter should be a good texture - not too watery and not too thick. If the plantain fritters become too watery add a little more flour. If the plantain becomes too thick to cook add a little more water. Plantain fritters are cheap and easy to make.

3. Cook and make plantain fritters by first adding the oil to a frying pan and heat until it starts sizzling. Take the cut up pieces of the plantain and add them to the hot oil.

4. Deep Fry the Fritters until they are a golden brown. Turn the heat down if the oil starts to sizzle too much or begins to spit oil out of the pan. Plantain fritters are cheap and easy to make and taste delicious hot or cold.

5. Continue to cook and then eat the plantains fritters that are cheap and easy to make, by removing the plantains when they turn a deeper golden color and have a crisp outer covering. Turn off the stove. Use a spatula to remove the fried plantains fritters and drain them on two layers of paper towels. Allow the plantain fritters to cool. Then place them on a serving platter and enjoy as an appetizer or dessert or a side dish for lunch or dinner.
