Controlling Food Cravings

Fulfilling New Year's resolutions can be a rewarding feeling for you and your family. There is nothing better than seeing yourself accomplish goals you thought you could execute. Unfortunately, many Americans tend to give up on their resolutions by the second month. New Year's resolutions such as weight loss, nicotine addiction, alcohol, and other bad habits can be a real pain to face head on. Weight loss is possibly the most common resolution people not only want to accomplish, but maintain throughout there lives. I understand that those who love food have it rough because I myself love hot sauce or spicy foods in general and have tried to quit for many years. I am actually a very thin man at 165 pounds, but hot sauce is just plain unhealthy for you in large quantities. I put hot sauce on my pasta, sandwiches, pizza, fried eggs and bacon, and of course fruits and vegetables. As outrageous as that sounds, I haven't been sick from it yet, but there is always that risk.

Fortunately, there have been ways for me to fight cravings for these specific spicy foods and I would love to share them with you all. For some odd reason, I find that chewing cinnamon gum actually helps me fight the cravings for hot sauce because the cinnamon itself can be considered a spice. As of now, I have not had any hot sauce since mid-October. Another unusual way to stop cravings for sweet unhealthy foods would be by eating canned carrots and peas. They are very sweet and can kill of cravings for foods that are high in fat and sodium. Basically most canned vegetables can aid you through most cravings. It would be best to try to consume these products during the holidays to prevent any weight gain prior to New Year's so you can prove to yourself that you can take on your resolutions as effectively as possible. I do not know much about fighting nicotine and alcohol addictions since I never had them, but faith in God is another factor to executing goals. You should never be ashamed of asking for help since most people have problems of their own. Confidence in yourself can lead to many accomplishments and even promotions in your job.
