Ravens' Sergio Kindle Hospitalized

Baltimore, Maryland - The Baltimore Ravens first overall draft picks Sergio Kindle has been hospitalized today, Sunday July 25, reportedly with a head injury.

In a statement released by the Ravens, "the linebacker was in stable condition and was being treated at University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin, Texas."

"Members of our medical staff, including Bill Tessendorf and Dr. Andy Tucker, have spoken with doctors in Texas. We understand Sergio is stable at this time, and that he is being tested and observed," Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome told press.

Little is known about the circumstances surrounding Kindle's injuries. The Baltimore Sun reported: "it is believed the rookie suffered a head injury after falling down two flights of stairs in a house he was visiting Thursday night in Austin."

Kindle was the Ravens' first overall pick in the second round in April's draft. He was supposed to report to McDaniel College with Baltimore's other rookies on Monday when the team's training camp starts.
