Review: RIMMEL LONDON Sexy Curves Mascara, Extreme Black

I decided to buy RIMMEL LONDON, Sexy Curves Mascara Extreme Black for the commercial. Honestly, it was the first commercial after "AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL" went to break. An actress hawking a new type of mascara that promised long, sexy, curves that lasts 16 hours! I was hooked.

I went to my local makeup store "ULTA" to buy the mascara, after work. I found the purple and black package, attractive. It is 5inches tall with the RIMMEL LONDON brand name in tall black letters behind a white background. The words "Sexy Curves" written in a sexy script in white below the brand name. I admit that the fact that it was a European Brand did intrigue me. I've always wanted to try the brand however, was afraid to because I suffer from having sensitive skin. So, I have to find makeup that is only Hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested.

The RIMMEL LONDON Sexy Curves mascara package boasts about creating up to 70% curlier voluptuous volume lashes. A triple plump brush, and 16 hours hold. I was hesitant in buying the mascara because of the $7.50 price tag. I thought it too expensive for just one tube of mascara. Then I remembered my ULTA rewards which rewards me total points after each purchase. I plucked the package from the hook and brought it to the cashier, who told me, I had accumulated a 5% discount. That was it!

I paid $2.68 with the discount.

The package explained the RIMMEL LONDON Sexy Curves mascara is a patent pending Lash inflation. It contains a protein- enriched formula, which instantly amplifies the natural volume and curves of your eyelashes. The package advertised the formula giving you fuller and no- clump free lashes. Opthalmologically tested as well as suitable for sensitive and contact lenses wearers.

I took out the sexy purple 0.27floz 8ml tube. I like the design of the tube. It almost looks like a Genie bottle. It has RIMMEL LONDON Sexy Curves written in script across the purple tube in white. It is maybe five inches long. It fit perfectly snug inside my makeup case with my other makeup leaving room for more. I unscrewed the top and stared at the triple plump brush. The brush is shaped like a kind of undersea creature. It has a long thin, stem with a unique triple brush that has curves shaped IN for volume and OUT for a long lasting curl.

How to use it: Beginning from the bottom of the eyelash. Wiggle the brush slowly up to the tip of the eyelash. Turn the wand vertically and rub the brush back and forth on the bottom lashes.

How it worked for me: It worked very well. I found that my lashes were darker, curled, separated, and didn't clump. The curl lasted longer than advertised.

What I didn't like: is that you must be careful to not bend the long thin plastic stem brush putting it back into the tube. I bend the long wand a little when I put it back into the tube. I had to put it back into the right shape after. After doing that, it worked fine. You really have to pay attention. I also didn't like how it doesn't curl the eyelash after one application. You have to reapply another coat two seconds later for the eyelash to curl.

Where to buy it yourself: Unfortunately, The RIMMEL LONDON Sexy Curves Mascara is not available online. (Believe me I looked everywhere). You can purchase RIMMEL LONDON Sexy Curves at you friendly neighborhood TARGET, WAL-MART, WALGREENS, or CVS. You can also purchase this product at an ULTA makeup store.

Overall Opinion: I really like RIMMEL LONDON Sexy Curves Mascara. The package and product are both atheistically attractive. The product does make your eyelash curl and does not clump. However, it is quite pricey. I recommend people use a coupon or their store rewards to purchase this product. I also would like to see this product come in different colors than Extreme Black.

Recommendation: Yes. I would recommend RIMMEL LONDON Sexy Curves Mascara. It does what it advertises. It lasts 16 hours and more. I have tried many mascaras and this one really works. It curls the eyelash and separates even though you have to reapply a second time.

Ingredients: Aqua/water/Paraffin, Cera Alba/Beeswax/Cire D'Abeille, Steric Acid, PVP, etc.

Warnings: Do not use if you already have an eye irritation, injured, or infected.

Consult with an eye doctor in case of an eye injury.
