from puberty, adolescence, to adulthood,
I can't remember a time you weren't there
Through the good times and bad you stood.
Like a trooper, you were tough, yet loving
Stern but straight, strict but lenient,
giving me just enough room to grow
yet allowing me to be different, while being me.
I can't think you enough for being there
not just the growing up years, but now,
with a family of my own, it makes me know even more
You did it, I'm still learning how.
So for all the years you've invested
the sleepless nights, the endless questions,
you kept me in tow, yet let me know
You always have and always will, be there.
