Top 5 Delicious Treats at Walt Disney World

Indulge in Dessert and Treats While on Vacation at Walt Disney World

Amanda M. Rose
Walt Disney World is a great place for everyone, but when it comes to those with a sweet tooth, make sure that you have purchased one of the Walt Disney World Dining Plans and indulge in some of the greatest and most talked about Disney snacks and treats out there.

1. Dole Whip: The Dole Whip, arguably, may be the most talked about treat and snack at Walt Disney World. This is a soft-served ice cream served in a cup or glass with pineapple juice (makes it into a "float") topped with a maraschino cherry. The Dole Whip is a very good treat that can be found at Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom across from the Enchanted Tiki Room or at Walt Disney World Polynesian Resort. I have personally waited in a 30 minute line (well...to be fair my son was napping in his stroller anyway) just to get the popular treat, thankfully he didn't wake up until it was all gone!

2.Goofy Candy Co. Rice Krispy Square: Goofy Candy Company can be found in Downtown Disney, and is by the far the treat that I recommend to everyone, and everyone who travels to Walt Disney World and tries one, makes a point of thanking me for the recommendation. This is a "make-your-own" treat, where you check off what you would like on your treat from a list and watch the Cast Member create your little treat, (and when I say little, I don't mean in size, this took me 2-3 days to eat). You can have this treat dipped in white, milk or dark chocolate and rolled in sprinkles, nuts, m&ms, butterfinger, and oreo and lastly drizzled with chocolate and/or caramel. I suggest putting everything that you like on this heavenly treat. This is not a snack for those who are worried about their weight, but it sure is the greatest creation on earth in my honest opinion.

3. Chocolate Slipper: If you are eating at Walt Disney World Victoria & Albert's or Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, then you must try the Cinderella's Royal Slipper Dessert. This treat is a solid white chocolate slipper that is filled with rich chocolate mousse. Incredibly Yum-O and a beautiful presentation. It has been reported that you are able to get this dessert at different Walt Disney World restaurants, but you will have to call and request it before hand. You cannot get this item with a treat credit, but it sure is delicious!

4.Beaches & Cream's Kitchen Sink: This dessert has been featured on the Travel Channel. It is a HUGE dessert that is fit for an entire family to indulge on, and the treat has a hefty price tag of $21.99, but it will feed a whole family! This sundae is served on a tray that resembles a kitchen sink and has eight scoops of ice cream and is sprinkled with all of their toppings - fudge, strawberries, caramel, pineapple, almonds, Oreos, Snickers, just to name a few - and topped with an entire can of Whip Cream....you read that right...an entire can of Whip Cream! Beaches and Cream is located at Walt Disney Worlds Beach Club Resort and this is a dessert requested to all. This dessert also cannot be purchased using a treat credit, but snack or no snack, it is completely worth it!

5. Funnel Cake: While funnel cakes are a popular treat that can be found at county fairs and amusement parks throughout North America, in my opinion there seems to be something a little more magical about eating this yummy treat at Walt Disney World. Funnel cake can be found all throughout the parks at Walt Disney World, and you can top the treat off with powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, fruits or chocolate sauce.

These five treats were just 5 that I have heard and indulged in myself at Walt Disney World, there are SO many more treats that are equally delicious and must-indulge ins, including the huge ice cream sandwich on Main Street in Magic Kingdom, School Bread in Epcot and so many more. Take a look here for more treat ideas that you are able to get on any of the three Walt Disney World Dining Plans.

I would also have to give a nod to the delicious pastries found in EPCOT's France pavilion. I'm not sure that I have a favorite--it's more fun to get a variety and share. They're decadent, but oh, so yummy!

Hello Amanda, Nice article. A friend visiting me from North Carolina insisted on having a Dole Whip treat while visiting Disneyland, California. She enjoyed it, shared some with her husband and they both agreed 'it was very good' and worth the twenty minute wait. Maybe I'll try one the next time I'm at DL CA or FL. Take care!
