Vampire Poetry: a Child Condemned

Layla Lair
A Child Condemned

I give my blood, in exchange for yours
To your warming eyes that soothe with twilights promise
And lips that enclose mine with a whispered trace
Gently deepening your lips to the eternal kiss
As all absence of light envelopes my tear streaked face

My sadness is consumed by the calming of your touch
So I open my mind with acceptance of fate
To never again know the suns bright grace
Or to feel morning kiss, or its heated taste
To become a lost shadow everlastingly marked

To become your child
Condemned to the dark
