1 John Chapter Five vs: 1-12
"1(A)Whoever believes that Jesus is the [a]Christ is (B)born of God, and whoever loves the Father (C)loves the child born of Him. 2(D)By this we know that (E)we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. 3For (F)this is the love of God, that we (G)keep His commandments; and (H)His commandments are not burdensome. 4For whatever is (I)born of God (J)overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. 5Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who (K)believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6This is the One who came (L)by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood It is (M)the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7For there are (N)three that testify: 8[b]the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 9(O)If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that (P)He has testified concerning His Son. 10The one who believes in the Son of God (Q)has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has (R)made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son. 11And the testimony is this, that God has given us (S)eternal life, and (T)this life is in His Son. 12(U)He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life." (Quoted from http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20John%205;&version=49;)
"Alright here is the paragraph so far: Jesus Christ is God and has manifested the truth making our joy complete with the incarnate word. We are wicked, and we need Christ, otherwise God is a liar, so be honest following and trusting Jesus Christ who is the light, the savior, and the righteous one because those in darkness deceive themselves. Focus on Jesus walking in the light while loving your God and your brother because God loved us first by giving us His advocate, Jesus Christ, whenever we stumble... Love God and not the world because this world is soon to pass away; it is in its last hour, and the antichrist will soon be here. God has made for us eternal life, and we must continue to abide in Him so that we may have confidence when we see Him and not shrink away in shame. We are separated from the world at our rebirth in Christ given a different mindset, and we must love our brother; the world will hate us, but soon the world's goods and ideas will pass with the devil while God will be with His children in the end. Stay sharp and test all spirits, for if they do not confess the truth and Jesus Christ as God then they are from the spirit of the antichrist/error. There is no fear for those who abide in God, for there need only be perfect love which involves God loving us first, and us accepting Jesus Christ as the one true God of our lives." (Recap from earlier studies...)
You have probably figured out that I was building up off of the last study and all of the other studies. So the beginning and ending is going to be repetitive with very slight differences, but as you look back at chapter one section 1 up to now, you will notice a significant difference in the length of the beginning and the end. This is how the bible is. The Old Testament is significant, yet the New Testament completes it. This is what Jesus Christ does to us. We are incomplete... We are unable to stand on our own, but God will allow us to stand on our own and overcome this world. That is what the first chapters of John are leading into. It is preparing us for the end. Notice that John, in sequence, is before Jude, and Jude before Revelations. God does not make mistakes. There is a reason God had let His word fall in the order from Genesis to Jude. Some would say that the bible is a great love story. I would submit that this is true, however, I would like to also submit that the entire book is one to prepare us for God to set His kingdom here on earth. This book is not just a story; it is a truth that must be told. How much blood has been written on these words, and how much is still being written?
How many times must God tell us this message before it seeps in? Jesus is the Christ that was born of God. We must love our brothers, our enemies, and everyone. God once said that the greatest commandments are to keep God as the first love and to love your neighbors as you would love yourself. In this love, being born of God will allow you to overcome. Our faith is the victory that overcomes this world. Our faith is found in our true love.
In understanding true love, we must abide in God. No, we will not be perfect, and that is why Jesus Christ had to pay with His own life. He came by water and blood. I said I didn't want to repeat much. Going on would be repetitious, yet people seem to still twist the truth of God's message. We are not saved by works. We are not perfect. Jesus is the Christ; He is God. We must have faith in God to overcome this world. Who can argue against the truth that God has brought. This is a message of love now, but where will you be when God forces us all to our knees. Will you bow willingly, or must you be broken. I will gladly bow to God. What am I but His servant to do His will? I could not live without God. If it were in my hands, I would have taken my own life years ago, yet God found use for me, allowing me to overcome myself. When I look away from God I struggle, so where else is there for me except by God's side. What greater witness to my life than the salvation of my own life from myself?
This is building up momentum, and the next section will conclude the book of 1st John. Soon, I will have to have a point of interest as to what to take from all of this. Our lives are still being written, but God knows the outcome, and without our love in God, the outcome is not good. God's love is perfect, and we must trust in Him. This is an easy thing to catch, but it is hard to stay on the narrow road. Summing up this entire section would be saying, "Faith in God, Jesus Christ, will help us overcome this world in the end allowing for a true victory."
Alright here is the paragraph so far: Jesus Christ is God and has manifested the truth making our joy complete with the incarnate word. We are wicked, and we need Christ, otherwise God is a liar, so be honest following and trusting Jesus Christ who is the light, the savior, and the righteous one because those in darkness deceive themselves. Faith in God, Jesus Christ, will help us overcome this world in the end allowing for a true victory. The next study will continue the examination of 1st John and end off the entire book. God bless.
