1 John Chapter Three vs: 1-24
"1See (A)how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called (B)children of God; and such we are For this reason the world does not know us, because (C)it did not know Him. 2(D)Beloved, now we are (E)children of God, and (F)it has not appeared as yet what we will be We know that when He (G)appears, we will be (H)like Him, because we will (I)see Him just as He is. 3And everyone who has this (J)hope fixed on Him (K)purifies himself, just as He is pure. 4Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and (L)sin is lawlessness. 5You know that He (M)appeared in order to (N)take away sins; and (O)in Him there is no sin. 6No one who abides in Him (P)sins; no one who sins has seen Him or (Q)knows Him. 7(R)Little children, make sure no one (S)deceives you; (T)the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8the one who practices sin is (U)of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning (V)The Son of God (W)appeared for this purpose, (X)to destroy the works of the devil. 9No one who is (Y)born of God (Z)practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10By this the (AA)children of God and the (AB)children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who (AC)does not love his (AD)brother. 11(AE)For this is the message (AF)which you have heard from the beginning, (AG)that we should love one another; 12not as (AH)Cain, who was of (AI)the evil one and slew his brother And for what reason did he slay him? Because (AJ)his deeds were evil, and his brother's were righteous. 13Do not be surprised, brethren, if (AK)the world hates you. 14We know that we have (AL)passed out of death into life, (AM)because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. 15Everyone who (AN)hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that (AO)no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 16We know love by this, that (AP)He laid down His life for us; and (AQ)we ought to lay down our lives for the (AR)brethren. 17But (AS)whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need and (AT)closes his heart against him, (AU)how does the love of God abide in him? 18(AV)Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and (AW)truth. 19We will know by this that we are (AX)of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him 20in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things. 21(AY)Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have (AZ)confidence before God; 22and (BA)whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we (BB)keep His commandments and do (BC)the things that are pleasing in His sight. 23This is His commandment, that we (BD)believe in (BE)the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as (BF)He commanded us. 24The one who (BG)keeps His commandments (BH)abides in Him, and He in him (BI)We know by this that (BJ)He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us." (Quoted from http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20John%203;&version=49;)
"Alright here is the paragraph so far: Jesus Christ is God and has manifested the truth making our joy complete with the incarnate word. We are wicked, and we need Christ, otherwise God is a liar, so be honest following and trusting Jesus Christ who is the light, the savior, and the righteous one because those in darkness deceive themselves. Focus on Jesus walking in the light while loving your God and your brother because God loved us first by giving us His advocate, Jesus Christ, whenever we stumble... Love God and not the world because this world is soon to pass away; it is in its last hour, and the antichrist will soon be here. God has made for us eternal life, and we must continue to abide in Him so that we may have confidence when we see Him and not shrink away in shame. The next study will continue the examination of 1st John. God bless. The next study will continue the examination of 1st John. God bless." (Recap from earlier studies...)
"1See (A)how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called (B)children of God; and such we are For this reason the world does not know us, because (C)it did not know Him." As soon we accept Christ we pretty much have alienated our self from the world. Our love is a reflection of God, and we are examples. Who we are brings others in the light, and the world does not like to be in the light. Consider that you tell someone abortion is wrong when they ask what you think about it. A person who overhears your discussion and has just got an abortion feels judgment from this comment. Without side tracking, this verse is basically saying that the closer we are to Jesus, the further from the world we will be. Our world views will not accept the worldly views. "2(D)Beloved, now we are (E)children of God, and (F)it has not appeared as yet what we will be We know that when He (G)appears, we will be (H)like Him, because we will (I)see Him just as He is." We are loved by God... Being His children, we will reflect Him on Earth. Because of the reflection that we see, we will recognize our Father Jesus Christ. Even not knowing what we will be, we will be like Him.
"3And everyone who has this (J)hope fixed on Him (K)purifies himself, just as He is pure. 4Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and (L)sin is lawlessness. 5You know that He (M)appeared in order to (N)take away sins; and (O)in Him there is no sin. 6No one who abides in Him (P)sins; no one who sins has seen Him or (Q)knows Him." My hope is fixed on Christ, and I want to stay in His grace to be purified. There is no where else for me to turn. I will abide in God because I love God, realizing He is holy and sovereign and there is no where else to go.
"7(R)Little children, make sure no one (S)deceives you; (T)the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8the one who practices sin is (U)of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning (V)The Son of God (W)appeared for this purpose, (X)to destroy the works of the devil. 9No one who is (Y)born of God (Z)practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10By this the (AA)children of God and the (AB)children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who (AC)does not love his (AD)brother." The practice of righteousness is only possible through Jesus Christ; going our own way unfixed on Christ leads to practicing sinfulness. If we choose to walk away from God, then we are staying on the path of the devil, who from the beginning has been sinning in trying to usurp God. God will destroy those who follow this path that is in disgrace and disobedience to His will. Man can not contend with God. You will know the people on the path by their love. Do not be deceived.
"11(AE)For this is the message (AF)which you have heard from the beginning, (AG)that we should love one another; 12not as (AH)Cain, who was of (AI)the evil one and slew his brother And for what reason did he slay him? 24The one who (BG)keeps His commandments (BH)abides in Him, and He in him (BI)We know by this that (BJ)He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us." Interesting notes point out that this message has never changed. The world simply yells louder to kill those who are righteous just as Cain slewed his brother. We simply must stay on the path of Christ fixed on Him and not turning away. The world will hate us, but God's love is more precious then any passing thing that this world can give us.
In conclusion, accepting Christ will automatically separate our world views from those views that are worldly. We are God's children and when the time comes God will recognize us, and we will recognize God. We must stay on a righteous path fixed on Christ. Man can not contend with God and those that do will be crushed just as Satan is to be crushed. The world will hate us, but God's love is more precious than any passing thing that this world can gives us. To shorten this section into one sentence: "We are separated from the world at our rebirth in Christ given a different mindset, and we must love our brother; the world will hate us, but soon the world's goods and ideas will pass with the devil while God will be with His children in the end."
Alright here is the paragraph so far: Jesus Christ is God and has manifested the truth making our joy complete with the incarnate word.
