1 John Chapter Two vs: 15-24

"15Do not love ^(A)the world nor the things in the world ^(B)If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, ^(C)the lust of the flesh and ^(D)the lust of the eyes and ^(E)the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17^(F)The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who ^(G)does the will of God lives forever. 18Children, ^(H)it is the last hour; and just as you heard that ^(I)antichrist is coming, ^(J)even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. 19^(K)They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, ^(L)so that it would be shown that they all are not of us. 20But you have an ^(M)anointing from ^(N)the Holy One, and ^(O)you all know. 21I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but ^(P)because you do know it, and because no lie is ^(Q)of the truth. 22Who is the liar but ^(R)the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is ^(S)the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. 23^(T)Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. 24As for you, let that abide in you which you heard ^(U)from the beginning If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also ^(V)will abide in the Son and in the Father." "Alright here is the paragraph so far: Jesus Christ is God and has manifested the truth making our joy complete with the incarnate word. We are wicked, and we need Christ, otherwise God is a liar, so be honest following and trusting Jesus Christ who is the light, the savior, and the righteous one because those in darkness deceive themselves. Focus on Jesus walking in the light while loving your God and your brother because God loved us first by giving us His advocate, Jesus Christ, whenever we stumble... So the paragraph is coming to... There is still more... Today I am looking at this one section a little differently. I am still going to be concise, but I must take special care while reviewing this section because it has one of the most important lessons that is the hardest for most Christians. It is hardest because ignorance or the worries of the world sometimes make things seem tough. However, we must maintain a love for God and have faith in a place other than this that is eternal. Unfortunately, sometimes to us, people only believe what they see not realizing their spiritual resources and what God means by peace. Truth be told, accepting Christ means that you will still die once. Death is our penalty for our sin. It will happen, yet God was sovereign enough to create provision. This world is lost, and to love God is to choose your own death so that you can live again after you die once. Otherwise, how can one escape the second death? You will die and be given true life when you accept Christ. Would anyone want to stay alive in this world forever anyway? I wouldn't... We can not love this world.

Love of the world is very bad. It is the worse thing a Christian can surrender too next to rejecting Christ. Those who overcome the love of this world are the ones that accept Jesus Christ in their hearts as their Lord God. Do not conform to this world, for you must follow the perfect will of God; would you tie yourself to the Titanic or grab a life boat. Pure non-worldly behavior is helping widows/the fatherless while staying unspotted by the world. The Pharisees spoke scripture, but they lifted no fingers to provide for the needs of the people. Friendship with the world is to be in enmity with God. Everything in the world like the lust of the flesh and the eyes and pride of life is not from the father. When you realize these things and follow Christ, you will be persecuted, but that is good. Before we were children of wrath because we were in the world; now, we are strangers to the world. Our satisfaction should be depending on God and not in our worldly comforts. Are you a child sleeping in bed on the Titanic, or are you a person on the life boat.

The world is passing away just as the Titanic was sinking. Daily, we must give our lives to Christ. Focus on Christ and meditate on His word. Materialism is useless when you can't take it with you. Not only that, say you had a nice car. What use would that be if in the next world you will be able to fly? This example is not the greatest, but my point is that we should store up treasure in heaven an not in a storehouse where rust, rot, and destruction waits to devour our earnings. Follow God's will because everything else will pass away. This is the last hour.

We are in the last hour... The antichrist is coming, and for all we know, with this being written so many years ago, he could be here and now being groomed to take his new position. Fear not though because if people leave and you lose friends for trusting in Christ, then were these people truly in Christ. God is our true friend no matter what happens, for better or for worse. We have an anointing from the Holy One. This book is a confirmation of the truth that we already know. We must hold onto the belt of truth as if it is fastening us to true life. Following and not denying the truth will protect us from the antichrist. The antichrist may say there is no Christ, but the contradiction is in his opening statement because he wishes to wage war against God by destroying His children and suppressing the truth. He will not snuff out the glory of God though because we will stand strong as long as Christ is our rock and cornerstone.

Having Christ as our cornerstone will keep us safe. We must not love the world, or partake of its fruit. This world is passing away and will soon end. We are in the last hour and the antichrist is coming or may even be here now. Likewise the spirit is here and many antichrists have risen. To paraphrase this section, I will simply say, "Love God and not the world because this world is soon to pass away; it is in its last hour and the antichrist will soon be here."
