#1 Resource for Music in Video Games is Vgmusic.com
This Site Has Everything You Could Ever Want in the Way of Video Game Music!
The site is very well organized so navigation is easy. Pick from a category of letters and search for your favorite game. Once you have found the game your looking for there are a variety of different renditions of any selected song or music clip. You can hear Mario die in the normal fashion or, with a techno beat. Here the themes to some of the most recognizable and classic games are redone as users affiliated with the site submit new content every day. With this added content you can hear Zelda's main theme in its original context, with an orchestra, with mono tones, or with a funky techno flare, the possibilities are endless.
The combined amount of video games that you're able to select from is amazing. If it was put out for a consul then vgmusic.com has the music to go along with the game. There are a lot of big titles that you would expect to find on a site featuring video game music, but many of the titles featured were a complete shock to me. Yes they have Wave Race, Sonic, Starfox, Tetris, Final Fantasy and more but also games like Halo, Top Gear Rally, Zero Wing, 007 and Bust a move!
There are games at vgmusic.com from every system that was ever released. NES, and Super Nintendo, Sega, Sega Saturn, Playstation and more. The constantly updated data base does a great job at keeping up with the times. They have had music pertaining to games on the Playstation 3 and Wii for months and are constantly adding more content. This means each time you visit you may find something new, also you can download the clips so you can listen to your favorites even when you're offline.
Anyone who is a fan of video games should take a good look at this site. The only drawback is that sometimes the original themes are lost in the mix. You may just want to hear Cutsmans level theme from Megaman for the NES but there are eight entries for that subject. Most of the time the content is labeled but then again sometimes it seems to be unclear exactly which versions of a song your getting, although by clicking on a few songs you may find something you would have overlooked otherwise.
vgmusig.com is indeed the ultimate source I have ever found for music having to do with video games. I love this place and always look forward to seeing what's new with the site. The music is all of good quality so you know that your not going to listen to some static and a few notes, everything is crystal clear. Give it a try and you yourself may be pleasantly surprised by this wonderful site.
