Top 10 Bands that Should Never Reunite

What do Led Zeppelin and the Spice Girls have in common (other than being British millionaires)?

They've both recently announced plans for reunion albums and tours.

While millions of rock fans are bursting with happiness over news that the remaining members of British rock'n'roll legends Led Zeppelin are reuniting, most folks are probably scratching their heads and wondering why in the world the Spice Girls are making a comeback.

So, with that in mind, here's my list of the day:

Top 10 Bands That Should Never Reunite

(And a few that have reunited, but really shouldn't have.)

10. Guns n' Roses

Screeching singer Axl Rose has been trying to scrape together a new album, Chinese Democracy, for well over a decade. Just stop. Nobody cares anymore. Let's just blast "Paradise City" on our car stereos in the summertime and leave it at that.

9. The Smiths

Morrissey is the coolest depressed crooner around, but a Smiths reunion would make the goth kids too happy. And what's worse than a sad goth? A happy goth.

8. Blondie

Somehow this group managed to get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year. Sure, "Heart of Glass" is a fun song, but surely nobody needs to see a 62-year-old Debbie Harry strutting around in a miniskirt.

7. The Doors

File this one under bands that should've stayed dead. Despite the fact that leader Jim Morrison died (or at least "disappeared" like Elvis) in 1971, the group reformed for the new millennium as Doors 21st Century with the Cult's Ian Astbury filling Morrison's leather pants.

6. *NSYNC. Not exactly a band, but we'll count it anyway. The equally awful Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls have both reunited recently. Let's hope Justin Timberlake and his pals don't try the same thing.

5.No Doubt

They've been silent for a few years, so let's hope this ska-pop disaster is finally dead. Now, if someone would just take Gwen Stefani's microphone away from her, I might not hate the radio quite so much.

4. Van Halen

The band finally brought back singer Diamond David Lee Roth, but it's too late. Let's all raise our air guitars and "Jump" one more time, then ship these fellas off to greener pastures.

3. The Eagles

These monsters of boring rock have been writing easy-listening dribble like "Hotel California," since 1971. They broke up in the '80s, but-much to the dismay of music fans blessed with common sense and eardrums-the band reunited in 1994 and just won't go away.

2. U2

Oh wait, they didn't break-up yet-even though I really wish they would. I can dream, can't I, Bono?

1.The Beatles

This might seem obvious since half the band is dead, but that certainly hasn't stopped Led Zeppelin from reforming. Anyway, between that lame Beatles movie-musical, Across the Universe, and Paul McCartney's commercials for iPods and Starbucks, isn't everyone sick of these guys already? It's ok, you can admit it.

    Sick of the Beatles?
    Never.
You are probably too young to realise what good music is.

Love your style. I like both number 5's. I actually like a lot more Beatle songs now, then I did when they were first released. I would definitely rather they be over-exposed than to ever hear Elvis Presley's name again. I rather liked the boy bands, so reunions might be interesting and you are probably right about the others. Led Zeppelin news amazed me; I somehow thought they might be dead by now or well into their 60s which seems a bit old for rock n' roll.
