10 Best Breakfasts Ideas when Dieting

Counting Weight Watcher Points

C.E.Brown
They say that breakfasts are the most important meal of the day! Who are they? Maybe it was your mother or the doctor, I'm not sure. But I know I've heard it all my life! Anyways, since picking my weight back up due to not following my own advice of sticking to calorie counting, I have decided to do something different this time around due to the advice of friends who have already traveled this road. I am counting Weight Watcher points this time round! I am also realizing how important breakfast really is to helping you succeed in sticking with a diet long term. Breakfast in the morning gives you fuel for the day and helps boost your metabolism after sleeping for 6 - 8 hours at night. Breakfast helps you to think better at work or school. If you skip breakfast, you are liable to be irritable, have poor concentration and fatigue. And you don't have to tell me why most dieter's don't eat breakfast because believe me, I know why! It's because you think you'll save your calories for later, right? Well, skipping breakfast is not right because then you feel hungrier and it may cause you to binge later. Now that I have you convinced to eat breakfast, let's look at those low-point or low-cal foods that make you feel full and last until lunch-time.

1- Quaker Weight-Control or Low-Sugar oatmeal - 3 points
2- Fresh fruit, such as an apple or banana - 1 or 2 points, depending on size
3- Weight Watcher Bagel - only 1 point
4- 2 slices of Healthy Choice toasted bread with minimal butter - 2 points
5- 16 animals crackers (plain or chocolate) - 3 calories
6- Fruit & Grain bars - 3 points
7- Quaker Breakfast cookie - 3 points
8- Fruits cups, like applesauce or mandarin oranges - 1 point each
9- Weight Watchers or Dannon Light & Fit yogurt - both are only 1 point
10. Boiled egg - 2 points

My absolute favorite thing to have for breakfast is the Quaker weight-control oatmeal!!! I have this almost every morning! I haven't done this since I was a kid at home but the rule holds true for breakfast keeping you satisfied until lunch-time. When I feel like having something different for breakfast at times, I will have a combination of things such as a boiled egg and piece of fruit or 16 animal crackers with a cup of black coffee or maybe I'll dump applesauce in my oatmeal!
Whatever you have for breakfast, make aure you read the labels on food packages to figure out the points or figure out the calories, then enjoy! What have you got to lose but the weight? Breakfast will help you get your diet and day off to a great start!!!
