10 Best Celebrity Books for Aspiration and Inspiration

The best celebrity books have a message to their fans that there really is something extraordinary about them. For me, I'm interested in celebrities who value good character . This celebrity is human but his or her character is what sets them apart from regular folks.

Growing up stories: Bill O'Reilly's Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity: Thoughtful stories from O'Reilly's schooldays and his Catholic background. His writing sounds just like he talks so he must have written his own book. Very good.

Nostalgia news reporting: Paul Batura's Good Day: The Paul Harvey Story (written with Mike Huckabee): Who wouldn't love to hear Paul Harvey's sign off one more time? The best "did you know this" stories were always delayed for an ad, then, he'd tell "the rest of the story."

The craft of writing the novel: Stephen King's On Writing: The Memoir of the Craft is well-written and full of writing secrets. Stephen King has a different technique to writing, and his advice is valuable because this book is less about technique and more about vision. It takes a successful writer to show us how to bring the envisioned project from an inkling to a finished and well-written story. Not many novelists will reveal their secrets.

Bravery: Pat Tillman: Boots on the Ground by Dusk, Mary Tillman and Narda Zacchino is a mother's tribute to her son. We already know this man was extraordinary because he left a NFL career at its peak to serve his country. This passionate and bittersweet memoir reveals the substance of a courageous man.

The flaws made him real: Johnny Cash wrote Cash: The Autobiography and there is no pretension in this book. Mr. Cash wants no sympathy; he just tells his story and acknowledges his shortcomings. He's a legend and a human being too, a man we can identify with.

Tested faith: Chuck Colson's The Faith: What Christians Believe, Why They Believe It and Why It Matters (with Harold Fickett). What man would leave prison and then return to it? Chuck Colson has been involved in the ministry of prisoners since his sentence was completed. He stuck with it. Why? Because he was transformed and believed this was where he should be. He found the faith in prison. This is about the faith what it is and why it matters.

Not a victim: Michael J Fox's Always Looking Up is the optimistic journey of a man with Parkinson 's disease. He doesn't look for sympathy, he looks for solutions. Much has been done for this disease thanks to this man's determination.

Age and Beauty: Robin McGraw's What's Age Got To Do With It: Living your Happiest and Healthiest Life. Robin McGraw doesn't just live in the shadow of her famous husband , she knows a thing or two about aging gracefully. Robin has advice for beauty, health, weight, family and menopause without sounding like she thinks she knows it all. She talks about choosing bioidentical hormones.

Loyalty: Denise Jackson's It's All About Him: Finding the Love of My Life (with Ellen Vaughn). It can't be easy to be married to a country superstar like Alan Jackson. When they separated, Denise found and learned to trust God during the tough days.

A celebrity book on the "to read" list:
Doing Hard Things: A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations by Alex Harris, Brett Harris and Chuck Norris. The title is intriguing and a good reminder for everyone. What if we raised our expectations? Could we make a difference? Twins Alex and Brett Harris write the popular blog Rebelution. The sequel looks good too, it's called: Start Here: Doing Hard Things Right Where You Are.
