10 Best Comic Book Vehicles of All-time

Lee Andrew Henderson
Ask someone on the street what superpower they would want and most people would say the ability to fly. It makes sense. Not only is flying a cool ability but it is also very helpful. If you can fly, no need for transportation. Not every superhero can fly though. Fortunately many superheros that don't have the ability to fly have their own cool vehicle and these are the best comic book vehicles of all-time.

10) Quinjet, Avengers and 9) Blackbird, X-Men
Honestly there isn't that much special about the Quinjet and the Blackbird. Both are just regular jets but they look cool and they are the transportation of two very popular superhero groups. The Blackbird is slightly better because it is black and has a better name.

8) Hellicarrier, S.H.I.E.L.D.
In another article I wrote that everybody wanted the Aircraft Carrier from G. I. Joe as a child. S.H.I.E.L.D's Hellicarrier is like the comic book equivalent. There is just something about a vehicle that is so large that it can hold at least a few dozen other vehicles on it.

7) H.I.S.S. Tank, Cobra
In my article on the Worst Comic Book Vehicles I included Cobra's Trubble Bubble but mentioned that Cobra did have other vehicles that were cool. The H.I.S.S. Tank barely beat out the Night Raven, the Thunder Machine and Serpentor's chariot for the best Cobra vehicle.

6) Glider, Green Goblin
Throwing pumpkins is strange and I've never been completely sold on the Green Goblin outfit, but the glider that Green Goblin uses saves him from being another lame Spider-man villain.

5) Skuttlebutt, Beta Ray Bill
The Skuttlebutt and Beta Ray Bill are probably the least well known on this list but it is one sweet spaceship. It also doesn't hurt that the Skuttlebutt is a fun name to say and Beta Ray Bill always refers to his ship as a "she" like any good vehicle owner. I still miss Rebekah (my first car, not some broad).

4) Brainiac's Ship, Brainiac
Brainiac has a giant spaceship that is shaped like his head. It sounds completely lame right? Could you imagine the Hulk riding around in a giant Hulk head? Could you see Captain America driving a Captain America head complete with those little wings on his head? Could you imagine Wonder Woman in an invisible Wonder Woman head? It shouldn't work but somehow it works for Brainiac.

3) Hellcycle, Ghost Rider
Let's be honest, Ghost Rider would look pretty badass in any kind of vehicle. He could drive an ice cream truck, a golf cart or a Segway and it would still be awesome, especially if they all start with the word hell. The hell cream truck, the hell cart, the Hellway.

2) Surfboard, Silver Surfer
Silver Surfer is a lot like Brainiac. He gets a lot of points simply because his vehicle shouldn't work but it somehow defies all logic and is totally awesome. Think about all the lame characters and their dumb vehicles. Remember Rocket Racer? How about Stilt Man? Kite-Man? A guy on a surfboard should be just another lame idea from that era but instead Silver Surfer is one of the best Marvel characters.

1) Batmobile, Batman
There are many variations of the Batmobile. Some like the old school Adam West Batmobile (as do I). Others like the current Batmobile (I do not). Just about everyone likes at least one of the Batmobile incarnations though and that is why it is the number one comic book vehicle of all-time.
