The 10 Best Ferrari Models Based on Style and Speed

Ranee Wright
The beautiful, sporty, exclusive and expensive Ferraris are known for their exquisite design and high-powered engines. The Italian car company, Ferrari, began manufacturing race cars in 1929 and cars for the roadway in 1947. Ferraris are the closest thing to one of a kind as it gets when it comes to automobiles.

An innovative car company, Ferraris best models include concept cars, supercars, bio-fuel and hybrid vehicles. The best Ferrari models are the Gran Turismos (GT). In the 1980's, Ferraris began a naming convention to simplify things. The three numbers represent the engine displacement and the letters refer to the body style.

2011 Ferrari 599 GTO - The latest Ferrari model is powered by an extreme V12 engine. Like many Ferrari models, the 599 will be limited to 599 units and costs close to half a million dollars! For those with the need for speed the 599 GTO is not only one of the ten best Ferrari products, it is the best sports car ever. Watch it go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.35 seconds on YouTube (click here) courtesy of Ferrari.

2003 Ferrari Enzo - Named for the company's founder, the 2003 Enzo is one of the 10 best Ferrari cars. This 6 speed V12 is number four in Motor Trend Classic "Greatest Ferraris of all time." Hit 60 mph in just 3.14 seconds and go as fast as 220 mph on the racetrack. It could be yours for around one million dollars. I bet it "corners like it's on rails!"

1995 Ferrari F50 - This beauty was introduced to celebrate Ferrari's 50th anniversary and modeled after the motorsport theme. The F50 has the Berlinetta/Barchetta body style, a V12 engine that hits 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and top speed 202 mph.

1985 Ferrari 3.2 Mondial Cabriolet - This V8 Ferrari is available in coupe and convertible style. Popular in the US; 3,284 Mondials were produced.

1984 Ferrari Testarossa - This sweet ride can be easily identified by the extra long side strakes or intakes along the car doors. This Ferrari model is a rear-wheel drive V12 that can reach 180 mph. The Testarossa was reengineered in 1992 and released as the 512 TR.

1973 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 - Ferrari's first V8, mid-engine 2+2 model can reach 155 mph. The 308 GT4 remained in production for seven years before being superseded by the Mondial 8.

1969 Ferrari 365 GTS4 - Ride with the top down and flaunt your eye car candy. The GTS4 has a folding canvas roof. Top speed 170 mph, V12 engine. Only 122 units were produced. For around $369,000 this classic could be yours - if you can find an owner willing to sell one of Ferrari's best models, the GTS4.

1966 Ferrari GTB4 - This V12 coupe can reach 167 mph and was the first Ferrari to be equipped with the four overhead cam-shaft V12. Because of new American safety regulations only 280 GTB4's were built.

1964 Ferrari 275 GTS- The 275 Gran Turismo Spider was styled after the Berlinetta model and made for the American market. Only200 V12 Ferrari GTS models were produced. While torque and flexibility were favored over maximum speed, the 275 can reach 151 mph.

1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta lusso -The classic 250 model reaches 60 mph in under 7 seconds and tops at 150 mph. Only 350 units were produced. Race car lover Steve McQueen owned this Ferrari model and several other exotic sports cars. All of the 250's are absolutely beautiful.
