10 Best Playstation One Games in Playstation Network's Store

The Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 have taken turns being the best selling console of the current generation. The Playstation 3 is lagging behind in sales but the one advantage they have is in their Playstation Network store. The original Playstation still has the best library of games and many are available in the Playtation Network store.

10) Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped
Game Rankings: 89.07
Crash Bandicoot got a very high score on Game Rankings. It should be said that Crash Bandicoot is a Mario type platformer that is really aimed towards kids. Adults that like cutesy Mario games may also enjoy Crash Bandcoot though.

9) Final Fantasy VII - IX
Game Rankings: Average Score of 91.53
There is probably no video game series that is debated more than the Final Fantasy series. Some think Final Fantasy VII is the best, others side with Final Fantasy VIII and some swear by Final Fantasy IX. If you average their scores together they still get a combined 91.53 score from Game Rankings but for the record they rank them 1) Final Fantasy IX 2) Final Fantasy VII 3) Final Fantasy VIII

8) Metal Gear Solid
Game Rankings: 93.75
Metal Gear Solid was the first of the recent Metal Gear series and really brought the stealth video game to the forefront (although Syphon Filter did precede it and is also in Playstation Network's Store). Metal Gear Solid is the highest rated game on this list according to Game Rankings.

7) Resident Evil 2
Game Rankings: 92.57
The first Resident Evil introduced the world to the horror genre and is worth playing (it is also on Playstation Network's store) but Resident Evil 2 is the highest rated out of the three Resident Evil games available. Resident Evil 3 is not a bad choice if you like the first two.

6) SimCity 2000
Game Rankings: 61.00
SimCity 2000 is not rated very highly but I thought I would include it for the casual gamers. Sim games are popular with casual gamers and Sim City is a classic in that genre.

5) Street Fighter Alpha 2
Game Rankings: 82.00
Street Fighter Alpha 2 is not the highest rated fighting game on the Playstation Network's store (Dead or Alive received a ranking of 83.92) but Street Fighter is likely to have more familiar characters. If the gamer has never played any fighting games and doesn't have a preference then Dead or Alive is not a bad option.

4) Suikoden
Game Rankings: 81.29
Suikoden is a RPG that has a much lower rating than the Final Fantasy series but that is largely due to less ambitious graphics. Suikoden's gameplay is a lot of fun and the dialogue at the very least is better than Final Fantasy VII. Suikoden is also a dream come true for gamers that like to collect things because there are over 100 characters to find and convince to join your group.

3) Tomb Raider
Game Rankings: 90.02
Tomb Raider is one of the iconic games of the Playstation but more recent versions of Lara Croft have fallen flat. The first Tomb Raider is probably still the best with the exception that the graphics are older.

2) Twisted Metal 2
Game Rankings: 86.44
Twisted Metal 2 is one of the best vehicular games on the Playstation. For those that are not familiar with the series Twisted Metal is a car combat game, not a racing game. Twisted Metal succeeds because of a great story and cast of characters that is better than most fighting games.

1) Xenogears
Game Rankings: 90.54
Xenogears is a less known RPG but according to Game Rankings it is actually better than Final Fantasy VIII and in my opinion it might be better than all three Final Fantasy games.
