1. The Defenders (CBS) Wednesday Nights 10:00 PM
Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell play two defense attorneys play two lawyers who go all out for their clients at any means necessary, including sleeping with the sexy female prosecutor. Jurnee Smollet (best known for her role in the film The Great Debaters) plays a new associated who worked her way through law school as a stripper rounds off the cast nicely!
2. Outlaw (NBC) Friday Nights 10:00 PM
Jimmy Smits is back on the small screen. He plays very conservative U.S. Supreme Court justice who has a change of heart and wants to represent the underdog. In the season premier he steps down and starts a law practice and represents the little guy who often can't afford a decent defense who in the pilot is played by RZA of WuTang, is accused of murdering of a police officer and facing the death penalty! Smits' character Cyrus Garza who owns 250,000 in gambling debts makes some big time enemies because of his decision to switch sides.
3. Chase (NBC) Monday Nights 10:00 PM
To me this was a fast paced, action packed cowboy boot wearing female version of the role Tommy Lee Jones played in The Fugitive & U.S Marshalls. Anne Frost (Kelli Giddish) is a U.S. Marshall, that stops at nothing to bring to justice some of the America's most dangerous fugitives. I must say while it was hyped up a lot during the summer it does live up to the hype.
4. Nikita (CW) Thursday 9:00 PM
I have to admit as a huge fan of the 1997 drama La femme Nikita, I didn't know what to expect, But I was pleasantly surprise as the 2010 version is actually closer to the original 1990 French film and the 1993 remake Point of No Return, that its processor. For those who don't know the series, it's about a secret governmental agency known as Division that targets trouble youth with questionable backgrounds and turns them into spies. Nikita is one of the spies and assassins. She goes rouge and with the help of another young recruit on the inside she is working on bringing down the organization that recruited her as they train the next batch of recruits.
5. Undercovers (NBC) Wednesday 8:00 PM
A husband and wife Samantha (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) and Steven (Boris Kodjoe) Bloom, who met as fellow spies, left agency to run a catering company, and called back in to rescue a missing agent. In one scene after deciding to rescue their missing comrade Samantha says, "We're really about to start doing the thing we stopped doing to have a normal life and were about to do it together," basically sums up the plot.
Great show, the couple reminds of the chemistry of Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers in the early 80's sitcom Hart To Hart!
6. Lone Star (Fox) Monday Nights 9:00 PM
Interesting nighttime soap opera-ish type sitcom about a second generation con man (James Wolk), who is living two separate lives, with two different women in two very different worlds. In Houston he is Bob Allen, married into to one of the wealthiest oils families in the country to the daughter of a oil tycoon. Simultaneously juggling a totally different identity as Robert living with his girlfriend in Midland, Texas. Midway through the pilot his world threaten to collide and he has to creatively keep up his cover cause he relizes he is in love with both women, The writers should have more then enough material as he escapes being detected each week.
7. Hawaii Five-O (CBS) Monday Nights 10:00 PM
An undated version of the original series, heavy on the gun play and explosives, The show is centered around a new elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the Islands' sun-drenched beaches. This is great buddy cop series!
8. Detroit 1-8-7 (ABC) Tuesday Nights 10:00 PM
In the success of real life police officers being followed in the line of duty on COPS, the producers thought it would be a good idea to create a fictitious documentary style drama the follows the lives of one of Detroit's top homicide divisions.
9. The Event (NBC) Monday Nights 9:00 PM
All I can say is if you are into action packed thrillers; this is just what the doctor ordered. While it's still unclear exactly what The Event they are leading up to is, from the second this shows comes on til the second it ends you are drawn in and eyes are glued to the screen. You have to watch every minute because as they go back and forth in time, the days and minutes leading up to the event and tell the story from several people's perspective, you can become lost quickly if you are not paying attention. I find myself eagerly waiting to see what's going to happen with episode 2.
10. Law & Order Los Angeles (NBC) Wednesdays 10:00 PM - September 29, 2010
While I haven't seen it yet, I'm going to add this to the list. I can't wait to actually see the season premier but this should be a great addition to the Law & Order franchise!
Honorable Mentions:
They look good but pilot episodes didn't air yet, so I haven't had a chance to totally check them out.
No Ordinary Family (ABC) Tuesday Nights 8:00 PM
I haven't had the pleasure of seeing yet since the Season premier isn't until Tuesday Sept 28, 2010. But from all the previews looks like a welcomed addition to the fall line up. No Ordinary family is about an ordinary run of the mill family who gain individual superpowers after a plane crashes in the Amazon River while the Powell family, are on a much needed family vacation.
Blue Bloods (CBS) Fridays 10:00 PM - starts September 24, 2010
Tom Selleck returns to the small screen on this crime drama that seems to be centered on a multi-generational family of New York City police officers.
Hellcats (CW) Wednesday 9:00 PM
While I haven't actually watched this in full, my girls stayed glued to the screen on Wednesdays right after America's Top Model. What I did see reminded me of those Bring It On type movies (which my girls also love). I mention this show because Im quite sure my girls wont be the only ones watching it this season.

...full-blown fight on a cliff. I hope this show gets better or they actually observe some real undercover agents. This is like watching a basketball movie with people who have never played basketball in their lives.
Okay, I finished the first show. I'm not feeling it. Here's why: #1 If you're jumping off of a plane, you don't end up at dinner with a wrinkle free dress. #2 If you've dropped your clothes in front of a criminal and then suddenly smack him, chances are he's not going to gasp and just let it go. #3 As an undercover agent, it's probably not a good idea to immediately cuddle up with your partner and dance, knowing the criminal could be staring right at you. #4 They went to a bunch of different countries in the amount of time it took me to walk from my living room to my bedroom without much planning. This could probably happen, but where is the change of clothes? They're just up and there. #5 All of these kissing scenes and "remember when we first got together" scenes are corny. I hope they don't plan to do this every single show. #6 The cliche roof fight. If I'm going to fight somebody on a roof, I don't punch him and then stay on the roof. I immediately jump down. They had a full-blown
I'm watching "Undercovers" now and only 00:25. It's pretty good so far. My mother wasn't thrilled with it so I'm trying to figure out why she didn't like it. We usually have the same taste in television shows (outside of her obsession with "Xena" and anybody wearing clothes that look like radiators). One show I can't WAIT to see come back is "Men of a Certain Age." I love that show. I was just about jumping up and down when "Sh*t My Dad Says" premiered on CBS this Thursday. I read (and rated) the book. That was one of the funniest books I've read in a very long time.
yeah it seems like they are re doin all the old shows, wow a updated Kojak would be off the hook!
You know you are getting old if you remember the original Hawaii 5-O? LOL! When are they going to redo KoJack?
Im with you I was a diehard Le femme Nikita fan and I am feeling the 2010 series!
Love that new Nikita series, I agree it is closer to the original movie, but I gotta say I loved La Femme nikita, I never missed an episode!
yeah the Undercovers pilot was pretty good, Im really excited at the fact of two black stars starring in a not necessarily black sitcom. Defenders was pretty good as well!
I'm looking forward to "Undercovers." I've never heard of "Defenders," but "Undercovers" will probably be good. Nicole Ari Parker has a lot of heart because I don't think I'd even want to watch a show with another woman all over my husband. I saw a preview of them going at it in bed. It's the profession, I know. I certainly wouldn't object. I just wouldn't watch the show. Ha, ha, ha.
