10. "I Just Cant' Wait to be King", "The Lion King"
"The Lion King" has many memorable Disney songs but "I Just Can't Wait to be King" is tops for one reason. Unlike the other Disney songs in The Lion King it was never played a billion times in two months until you wanted to rip off your ears every time you heard it like "Hakuna Matata", "Circle of Life" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight".
9. "Chim Chim Cher-ee", "Mary Poppins"
"Mary Poppins" is another movie with several memorable Disney songs but "Chim Chim Cher-ee" was always my favorite. It is largely due to Dick Van Dyke as Bert, a chimney sweep so lovable that everyone is willing to ignore the worst British accent in the history of film.
8. "Belle", "Beauty and the Beast"
"Belle" is a great opening Disney song for "Beauty and the Beast" because it explains everything we need to know about the main character. Belle isn't just some ditzy blonde Disney princess. Belle is smart, down to earth, the girl next door. She's ordinary and that's why she's extraordinary.
7. "Cruella De Vill", "101 Dalmations"
Cruella De Vil might not be the best villain in Disney film history but her theme song is definitely the best. I think we should all follow Roger's lead and write songs in the privacy of our homes about the people that are villains in our lives. It's probably very therapeutic.
6. "Feed the Birds", "Mary Poppins"
"Feed the Birds" is a very overlooked Disney song because many only consider the fun, happy songs. "Feed the Birds" is a very serious moment in "Mary Poppins" and that is why it is one of the best. The rumor for years has been that "Feed the Birds" was Walt Disney's favorite Disney song.
5. "You Can Fly!", "Peter Pan"
"You Can Fly!" is one of the monumental moments in the Disney classic Peter Pan. This is where the viewer first meets Peter Pan and learns how to get to Never Land.
4. "Heigh Ho", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs"
In the movie "Gremlins" all the Gremlins seem like evil, sadistic creatures but when they all meet up at the movie theater and watch "Heigh Ho" from "Snow White" they all suddenly turn into little school girls like everybody else.
3. "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-DAH", "Song of the South"
The Classic song from "Song of the South" was the second Disney song to win an Oscar for Best Original Song. The song was such a hit that "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" would also be used as the theme song for Wonderful World of Disney and numerous other shows.
2. "Beauty and the Beast", "Beauty and the Beast"
The dance scene between the Beauty and the Beast is not only one of the most memorable scenes in Disney history but it might be the best dancing scene in any film, animated or live action.
1. "When you Wish Upon a Star", "Pinocchio"
In 1940 "When You Wish Upon a Star" became the first Disney song to win an Oscar. The song has become so iconic that is is now the official song of the Walt Disney Company.
