10) The Triumvirate
The Triumvirate, or the Trio as some people call them, were made up of three nerd classmates of Buffy and the Scooby gang. Season six was an odd season because the large ongoing plot was not that interesting but the individual episodes were humorous thanks to the antics of the triumvirate of nerds. They were often used as a tool to tell many geek jokes that many of the loyal Buffy fans would understand.
9) Mayor Wilkins
A politician with no soul makes a deal with demons? Yeah, that sounds about right. Mayor Wilkins was a great character because even though we don't have proof we know that Mayor Wilkins was probably based on a real politician that really does have minions from the Hellmouth working for him.
8) Drusilla
Drusilla was always a sidekick to either Angel and Spike but I always loved her cooky craziness. There were times when she rambled a mindless string of words that didn't really make sense but Yoda does the same thing on Star Wars and everyone thinks he's a genius.
7) Faith
Buffy fans are nuts for Faith and some even prefer her over Buffy. Personally I find Faith to be overrated but she did make for an interesting foil for Buffy and I think we learned that maybe Buffy wasn't as flawed as we thought when compared to Faith.
6) Sweet
Sweet is one of the few villains to make this list despite only making one appearance. Sweet was the villain during the musical episode. A slick looking demon dressed in a snazzy suit that can sing and dance? Why couldn't we get some sort of Sweet spin-off?
5) The Master
The name is a little weak but the Master is one of the more powerful and most well known of the "Buffy" series. Props have to be given to anybody that can kill Buffy and he did it twice.
4) Caleb
He's a former priest. He's a serial killer. He pokes out Xander's eye (I've wanted to do that a ton of times). He's Nathan Fillion. Caleb is one of the most enjoyable villains in the "Buffy" series and it didn't hurt that Whedon fans loved Fillion in the canceled "Firefly" series and were thrilled to see him on Buffy.
3) The Gentleman
The Gentleman also made just one appearance in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" series but it is thought by many (myself included) to be the best episode of "Buffy". The Gentleman were creepy little buggers with their grinning and their constant silence. They were the silent killer, like high blood pressure, except with sharp teeth.
2) Spike
One of the key reasons that the second half of "Buffy" is not as good as the first half is because of the neutering of Spike. Many "Buffy" fans would no longer rank Spike high on a list of best villains because he's more of an ally now but that doesn't erase the fact that Spike was the most entertaining "Buffy" villain ever. Unfortunately the hero turn does eliminate Spike from the top spot.
1) Angel
There's no way around it, Angel is the number one villain the history of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Unlike Spike, Angel got his own show when he turned good so that he would always be remembered as the number one villain on "Buffy."
