10 Christmas Gift Ideas for Budget-Conscious Moms

Agnes Farside
Budget-conscious moms are often conservative moms who appreciate a Christmas gift that is functional, can help save time, and costs little. A conservative mom will shop with coupons, look for the best sales, and find ways to accomplish more tasks in less time. Some people think a person like this is hard to buy a gift for, but they are not. I know, because I am a conservative mom.

Gardening Gift

Moms that garden will tell you that they can never have enough gardening gloves. I know I wear mine out quickly. Buy your budget-conscious mom several pairs of the gardening gloves that cost about a dollar. She will appreciate knowing that you have taken an interest in her hobby.

Cooking Gift

Conservative moms who love to cook can always use items for their kitchen. One Christmas gift I like to receive that does not cost a lot, are cookie cutters. I love to bake cookies and my family loves to eat them.

Cleaning Gift

Most budget-conscious moms do not like cleaning tools that do not work well. One Christmas gift that costs little and children can make is dusting clothes. All the child has to do is cut a one-half yard of fleece fabric into several squares measuring ten inch by ten-inch.

Pampered Gift

Pamper your conservative mom with a scented milk bath, which can easily be prepared with ingredients being found in the home. Mix one cup of powdered milk with one tablespoon of Epsom salt, and several drops of vanilla flavoring. I pour the mixture into the bath while the water is running.

Handyman Gift

When dad is not around moms have to be the handyman. I have a special place in my sewing room where I keep basic tools, such as a hammer, a couple screwdrivers, and an assortment of nails and screws. Any tool is an excellent Christmas gift for the handyman mom.

Sewing Gift

With the price increases of clothing, many cost-conscious moms are learning to sew to make new clothing or mend damaged ones. A good Christmas gift for mom would be a package of needles or several spools of thread. I never have enough needles as they break or become dull.

Shopping Gift

Moms that shop with coupons need ways to help keep them organized, and a coupon organizer as a Christmas gift will do just that. I have one that snaps onto the shopping cart handle.

Computer Gift

A photo mouse pad is a great Christmas gift for moms, which can be obtained at most photo shops. I have one with a picture of the grandchildren and love it.

Relaxing Gift

One of my favorite Christmas gifts I like to receive is a new mug and several packets of my favorite hot chocolate mix. You mom will love this thoughtful gesture.

Fancy Gift

If you want to get your conservative mom a fancy gift, try giving her a Christmas pin. I started receiving these several years ago and have started my own collection.

I love practical gifts myself. Doodads and expensive stuff is not really appreciated when what you really want is a new dust pan or mop!
