With the holiday shopping season upon us, finding that perfect gift for people on our Christmas lists can sometimes be a challenge, and I would imagine that most of us have children that we love buying gifts for, but that can sometimes be difficult finding a gift that we know they will love. I always found that buying for toddlers a challenge because they do not necessarily have the ability to tell you what they want. That is, until I had a toddler of my own. This is my son's all-time favorite toy that we own, and I cannot imagine a day without it. He actually got this toy last year for Christmas, and he still plays with it every single day. These can usually be found for less than $30, and come complete with an adjustable hoop and basketball. It has a wide rim, making it easier for toddlers to make baskets, and adjusts to 6 different heights, for as the child grows. The ball is also smaller, which fit perfectly into a toddler's hands. You can also fill the base with water or sand to give it more stability, and can be used indoors or out.

Christmas Gift Idea for Toddlers #2: My son has the Fridge Farm Magnetic Animal set, but there are several other options out there with the same basic concept, such as the Fridge DJ, Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set, Fridge Wash & Go Magnetic Vehicle Set. I have also bought several of these other fridge magnet sets for other children as well, and they always seem to be a big hit. With the fridge farm, there are several different farm animals (cow, horse, duck, etc.) and there are 2 halves to each animal, and the child can mix and match the halves in the main base part, and then push the buttons and it sings songs, teaches the animal sounds, and the animals' colors. It is not only lots of fun for the child, but also a great learning tool as well.

Some people may think that a kitchen set and dishes are primarily a girls' toy, but this is just not too. We found a house where the people were just throwing away the actual kitchen set, so we stopped and picked it up and got it all cleaned up. And my son and my nephew both love playing with this, especially when I am working in the kitchen myself getting a meal prepared. I love toys that offer "real life" play, and teach a child about the different things adults do to care for the family because it teaches them responsibility at such a young age!

I actually had a sit-n-spin as a child, and I thought that they had gone away, but a lot of those classic toys like this seem to be coming back, but now they have added features that they did not have 25 years ago. The sit-n-spin now is like the old toy in that the child can sit on it and spin around by turning the wheel in the middle, but the added features I have seen on these newer improved toys are buttons that the child can push that make the toy light up and sing songs.
