Here are 10 creative ways to use Chap Stick around the house for personal use. Chap Stick has been around since the early 1880s, when a doctor by the name of C. D. Fleet came up with the idea of selling a lip balm wrapped in foil, which he called Chap Stick.

Unfortunately, the doctor didn't sell the Chap Stick like he hoped to, so he sold the all the rights to his product to John Morton for $5 dollars. It was Morton and his wife who made Chap Stick popular, by re-molding it and re-packaging it and putting the stick in a container that could be shipped.

Morton Manufacturing Corporation held on to Chap Stick until 1963, when it was then purchased by A. H. Robins Company, who manufactured 4 different flavors of Chap Stick. But in 1989, Chap Stick, along with A. H. Robins Company, was purchased by American Home Products Corporation.

If you don't want the skin along you hair line to be dyed when you color your hair, just take your Chap Stick and run a line of it on the skin around your hair line.

This is especially good in the winter time when your skin is chapped, dry and wind burned from
skiing. Just rub Chap Stick over the expose portion of your skin to protect it.
