And while reminiscing about the earliest MTV music videos bring back the obvious choices (The Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star;" Pat Benatar every five minutes) there's a few videos that may still require some memory jogging.
Here are 10 early MTV videos you may have forgotten about or- gasp!- never seen:
"Destination Unknown"- Missing Persons. This song by new wave popsters Missing Persons got plenty of airplay back in MTV's early days. And was lead singer Dale Bozzio the original Lady Gaga or what?
"Working Girl" -The Members. Prehistoric early 80s video at its best. This was back in the days when videos were made on a low budget (or no budget) and boy, could you tell on this grainy one!
"I Know There's Something Going On"- Frida. Yeah, we know your parents listed to ABBA. But when Frida Lyngstad went solo she went on to make one of the most-played early videos on MTV. Listen closely and you can hear Phil Collins' telltale drums.
"Change"- John Waite. Before he hit it big with the song "Missing You," former Babys front man John Waite was an MTV staple- complete with a Boy George hat. But he had it first.
"Stone Cold"- Rainbow. Deep Purple, Rainbow - who cared? Joe Lynn Tuner's smoldering looks ruled this video. Oh, and his voice wasn't too bad either.
"Lunatic Fringe"- Red Rider. This one-song wonder scared us with its spooky riffs. Looking back at it today, the lead singer's jumpsuit scares us more.
"The Metro"- Berlin. This band may have soared to the top of the charts with their "Top Gun" soundtrack single, "Take My Breath away" but this earlier video made the rounds on MTV in a big way.
"Talk To Me"- Fiona. Years before she dueted about "sexing" with Kip Winger, singer Fiona (Flanagan- not Apple) had her own little ditty on MTV.
"Fantasy"- Aldo Nova. Early space-a-storic video with really cheesy special effects. Continuing with the space-age theme, in 1983 these guys also gave us the not-so-memorable "Monkey On Your Back."
"I Wanna Be a Cowboy"- Boys Don't Cry. Definite one hit wonder- and even the "hit" is barely memorable. But watch this video and the terrifying memories will all come flooding back.

I remember all of these and LOVE some of them...."I know there's something going on..."
Great list!
Missing Persons was my first concert ever, front row, all the guys were staring at Dale Bozzio but I was watching Warren Cuccurullo play guitar. Now I'm going to go visit iTunes.
I sorta miss a few of these, Victoria! :)
