10 Easy Steps to a Handmade Gift Frame: Great for Christmas

Handmade Wooden Picture Frame: A Great Christmas Gift Idea

Robbie Tittle

This is a gift that keeps on giving and preserves precious photographs of our loved ones. It can be hung on the Christmas tree or hung on the wall for all year enjoyment! Grandparents, especially, really love these~!
This is simple to make and it looks amazing when it's finished.

Hot glue is NOT Recommended for children!

For Children: Substitute Elmer's glue for the entire project.

Supplies:

Photographs

Twigs: Can go out side and clip some branches or your local craft store.

Branch clippers

Hot Glue Gun

Hot Glue sticks

Elmer's glue

Ribbon: any kind and color

Cardboard or poster board

Create:

1) Plug in hot glue gun and add stick of glue so it is ready

2) Crop photographs / Square or rectangular shape is best

3) Crop the cardboard or poster board a little larger than photograph to have room for twigs

4) Glue photograph to the cardboard or poster board

5) Clip twigs the size of the board. You will want to do all four sides.

6) You can add one or two twigs around the photograph. This is left for you to decide what looks best with your photograph.

7) Cut a piece of ribbon the length is up to you. This ribbon will be glued to the top of your photograph and used as a photograph hanger.

8)
With the twigs laid out on the picture use the hot glue gun and glue one twig at a time. Be sure to leave all the twigs on as you glue. This will help assure proper placements.

9) After all twigs are secure, place cut ribbon on the backside of the cardboard or poster board, be sure this placement is at the top of the photograph. Make sure ribbon is dispersed evenly for proper hanging

10) Hot glue the ribbon to the backside of the cardboard or poster board

Want to get more creative? You can add other things to the frame like small pine cone or more ribbon, tiny bows and more. Just use your imagination because the sky is the limit!

Congratulations, you have just made a gift so priceless for the holiday season.
This handmade gift frame is wonderful for loved ones and anyone else. It will be cherished for many years because the photograph selected captured moment in time!
