1. Dip heart shaped cookie cutters into red, white, pink, and purple paint and make prints on the front of a construction paper card.
2. Cut out the back pocket from a pair of outgrown jeans and let your child decorate it with glue, glitter, and sequins. Fill the pocket with Hershey kisses and a Happy Valentine's Day note and let your child give her pocket full of kisses to someone special.
3. Create unique heart stamps by letting your child paint an entire piece of paper with vinegar. Give him a handful of hearts cut out of colored tissue paper and let him place them on the paper. When the vinegar has completely dried, let your child peel off the hearts to reveal a stamp underneath.
4. Create a marbled heart by cutting out a piece of construction paper to fit inside of a heart shaped candy box. Dip marbles into red, pink, white, and purple paint and place them inside the box. Replace the lid and let your child roll the marbles around to create a marbled effect on their Valentine's hearts.
5. Create a beaded heart by folding a pipe cleaner into a "V" shape. Give your child beads to thread onto the pipe cleaner. Finish the heart by folding the tops of the V inward. Create a heart necklace by folding the ends inward
6. Create a green valentine by cutting a sponge into a heart shape, moisten it with waterand sprinkle it with grass seeds. Cover the sponge with plastic wrap and set it in a sunny window. When the sprouts start to appear, uncover the sponge and continue to water it by spritzing it with a water bottle. In a few weeks, your child will have a green, growing heart to give away.
7. Create a heart with your child's handprints by tracing your child's hands, fingers close together, with the palms overlapping. You can also make a handprint heart by painting your child's hands and creating the heart with handprints.
8. Make a transparent heart by cutting a heart out of contact paper. Give your child glitter, confetti, and small scraps of colored paper, foil, and ribbon to sprinkle on the heart. Place another piece of contact paper over the sticky side and trim the edges.
9. Use a heart shaped cookie cutter to make heart shaped cookies. Let your child decorate the heart with white and pink icing, conversation hearts, red sprinkles, and red hot candies to create an edible valentine.
10. Let your kids, creativity run wild by providing colored construction paper, glue, glitter, doilies, stickers, and hearts so they can create classic Valentine's Daycards that everyone loves.
