Being Expensive Doesn't Always Mean It's Better

There are beauty products on the market that sell for much higher price points due to the brand name but there are items that can be found within your budget. Spending hundreds of dollars to keep with the times for beauty items is sure to break the bank but there are essentials available that work just as well as the high end items. Here are ten must have beauty products for under $10.

Chapstick

Many lipsticks are now made with sunscreen but chapstick is still an essential for cold, blistery, scorching and windy days. This tube of emollient works wonders to keep lips from cracking, chapping and peeling during weather changes or dehydration. It's portable and can be purchased for less than $2.

Tweezers

Though tweezers can be found in high price brackets it's often an item that proves "more is not always better." Whether the tweezer is expensive or not the main purpose is to be able to grasp the hair tightly and remove it without slippage. Besides the importance of how well tweezers work there is something even more important. A well tweezed set of eyebrows can change someones entire look and redefine their face.

Fingernail File

Maintaining your fingernails will change the looks of your hands. Dirty, broken, different length and bitten nails are very noticeable and tells a lot about your character. Keeping a file in your car, handbag or wallet can minimize the reasons to pick or rip your nails off.

Nail Glue

Even if you don't wear press ons or acrylics nail glue is an essential to keep with you. Breaking or tearing a nail down to the flesh will not only cause pain and irritation but can cause infections and hangnails.

Hair Serum

There are several on the market that are under $10 and worth every penny. Citre Shine which is a type of polishing serum that protects hair from sun exposure, reduces frizz and leaves hair with a glossy finish. Another product on the market by the name of Soft & Beautiful is a oil sheen spray. Although it's marketed for African American hair it moisturizes and leaves a glossy sheen on curly hair. Hair that has been chemically treated, course or dry is a good candidate for hair serum.

Eye Makeup Remover

Each evening your makeup should be removed from your face with a gentle cleanser. Eyeshadow and powders can be removed without the use of eye makeup remover but mascara's are a bit more tricky; especially when the type you use is waterproof. There are many expensive eye makeup removers on the market but Rimmel makes a remover that has a similar consistency to Lancome and works well for a third of the price.

Moisturizer with Sunscreen

Many facial creams and makeup are made with sunscreens but this item should be carried with you at all times for the use of your hands, neck and chest, also. Even though you may use a sunscreen on your face your hands, neck and chest will get more than their fair share of sun exposure and will show signs of aging much more quickly than you'd expect.

Bottled Water

The human body is made of 60% water and can be as high as 70% depending on your body mass so water is a necessity for keeping you hydrated from the inside out. Water will not only keep your organs running smoothly but will keep the skin hydrated to reduce the look of fine lines. The best solution for keeping water around is to buy a case and keep it in your car when traveling and to keep a pitcher of cold water in the fridge for those must have moments.

Dish gloves

They're yellow. They're bulky. They're unattractive and one of the best ways to keep your hands and nails well protected from chemicals and water activities. Constant use of chemicals or water soaked hands will cause your skin and nails to dry out, as well as, make your nails brittle and easily broken.

Body Scrub

Exfoliating your skin on a weekly basis is a great way to aid in new cells surfacing and creating smoother less ruddy skin. Scrubs come in several forms such as salt or sugar and can be found in your local drug stores. St. Ives Apricot Scrub is also well under $10 and is a multi purpose scrub for your face and body.
