Planning a trip to Las Vegas? With so many events, shows, and various "only in Las Vegas" attractions to choose from, where do you begin? You probably won't have time to do or see everything that Las Vegas has to offer, so why not start with a whole list of interesting things to do that won't cost you a nickel? Just think of all those extra coins you can plunk into the slot machines instead.

1. Fountains Of Bellagio - They never get old; different songs, different 'choreography', same beauty. A must-see, stunning array of water, lights, and pure creativity.

2. Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens - While you are visiting the fountains don't miss the gorgeous indoor gardens. With new themes for each season, there is always a surprise awaiting you. Breathtaking photo opportunities abound.

3. Rio Masquerade Show in the Sky - Brazil's Carnivale-inspired parade suspended from the ceiling snakes through a section of the Rio Hotel. Also, a fun place to take the kids to enjoy the music and fun! Note: You can purchase tickets to "ride" the floats if you prefer.

4. MGM Lion Habitat - Take a quick trip through the Lion Habitat located inside the MGM Grand. You might even witness a feeding session!

5. Circus Circus Performance Acts - Children and adults alike will be amazed by the dazzling feats of acrobatics and other oddities on display in the Circus Circus Hotel.

6. Fremont Street Experience - Filled with various street vendors performing their arts and crafts along with other special events, there is always something interesting to watch in Downtown Las Vegas. The liveliest time to go is after dark.

7. Hoover Dam - A short drive away from the city lights, you will marvel at Hoover Dam. Drive over the dam and have several photo taking opportunities to add to your scrap book.

8. The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian - Arguably the most beautiful hotel in Las Vegas, inside and out. Stroll through the magnificent shops while enjoying various performances, including the real Gondola rides floating right past you!

9. Caesar's Palace Forum Shops - Yes, it is a mall. But it is an adventure also! Spend a couple of hours window shopping in some of the most unique windows you've ever seen. Don't miss the 3-story FAO Schwarz horse and an enormous tropical fish tank. You might witness a feeding session here as well.

10. Flamingo Animal Exhibits - Outside the Flamingo Hotel, there are several animal exhibits to enjoy. Some of the furry (and not so furry) creatures you may encounter include: penguins, turtles, and flamingos, of course!

One of my favorite things just outside Vegas is the Ethel M factory and Cactus Garden...not sure which part I like better! Great article.
