Washing: Before you go out deer hunting make sure you wash off any body odor with an unscented soap and shampoo. Dry with a towel that has been washed with scent free laundry detergent and dried without any added fragrant dryer sheets. Detergents, fabric softeners and perfumed dryer sheet scents can transfer to your skin from the towel. Use a non-scented deodorant also.
Clothing: Like your body, make sure your clothes are free of any scent. Store dried clothing in a large air tight bag before wearing them out in the fields and woods. Some deer hunters will wear a carbon suit; the carbon suit will trap your scent inside the clothing.
Foot Wear: Wash any fabric with a soap that is free of any fragrant and let them dry outside in the air. You can then uses a cover spray over the entire boot. Rubber boots are a good choice when deer hunting because the rubber on the boot does not hold any odors. Store your boots in an air tight, scent free container.
Gear: Your gear also needs to be free of any scent. Many deer hunters forget that their tree stand, bag and gun can hold human scents. Make sure you wipe down all of your deer hunting equipment with a sent free cleaner or a cover spray and then keep them stored with your other scent free items.
Wind Mapping: It is very essential to know and comprehend how the wind will affect the deer's behavior and actions. It's also good to recognize how wind can and will influence you in your hunting area.
Clearing the Way: It's a good idea to rake up the area going to your blind or stand, making a soundless path for yourself to travel on prior to going out this deer hunting season.

Salt and Mineral Blocks: These are good for the deer's health and they are attracted to them. When placing them try an old tree stump or you can dig a shallow hole and drop the block into it covering it lightly with soil and water.
