Pug - This breed is adorable, with their wrinkly face and curly tail. They are also generally even-tempered and a playful companion. Little children are sure to love pugs.
Bulldog - This breed of dog is a bigger option if you're looking for something adorable and wrinkly. Bulldogs require minimal exercise and are usually non-biting. They are also typically good with kids.
Beagle - Beagles are a good option for an active family as they like a lot of exercise. They are good with kids and non-biting. I had some beagles as a child and found that they were very lovable and intelligent.
Shih tzu - These are a little more high maintenance because of their long hair, but are still very suitable for families. They love people and were originally bred as a companion.
Basset Hound - This dog breed is pretty slow moving, but can be energetic when it needs to. Bassets are generally a non-biting breed. I also had one of these when I was younger and found that they love to be with people.
Labrador Retriever - When I think of dog breeds for families, this one comes to mind. They are great for active families and love to play. Labs are a good option if you are looking for a larger outside dog.
Golden Retriever - These are beautiful dogs that are great for families who enjoy outdoor activities. Golden Retrievers are also a good option for a large, outside dog.
Collie - This breed is a great all around family pet. They are very intelligent as well as patient and good with kids.
Pomeranian - These little hairballs are great if you are looking for a smaller dog as they usually only weigh about five pounds. They love to just lay in your lap and be pet.
Boston Terrier - This dog breed is good if you are looking for a lovable dog that is also a good watch dog. They are characteristically obedient and loyal.
Please keep in mind, when you are selecting your dog, that these are only general personality traits of each breed. Just because a dog makes the list of best family dog breeds, it doesn't mean that it's going to be the dog for you. Every dog is unique and may not fit the mold of its breed exactly. Your best bet is going to be spending some time with the dog to make sure it will indeed be a good fit for your family.

Post a CommentDear Cassie- no dog is an "outside dog" and reinforcing the stereotype that just because they're a little larger they belong "outside" is ridiculous.......In today's society Im hoping that the "dog people" of the world are educating the general public , not setting us back.
