Kid friendly phone apps are perfect for keeping children busy while parents shop, travel or visit with family and friends. The great thing about phone apps is that many are free and the rest typically cost less than five dollars. With phone apps for kids available on all iPhones, Smart Phones and other data and app ready phones, why not download a few apps on your phone for your kids to play? The list below provides ten of the best phone apps for kids.

Balloonimals

Balloonimals is exactly what it sounds like. Kids can blow into the phone's microphone to inflate a balloon. When they shake the phone, the balloon will turn into a random balloon animal. By tapping your phone, the balloon animal makes different movements.

Tappy Tunes

For kids who enjoy piano, or just like to play music, Tappy Tunes is the perfect app. As your kid taps the screen, the notes of a song plays. Though you cannot control the song, kids can control the pace of the song.

Brushes

Brushes is a painting app that allows children to tap into their extensive imaginations. A wide variety of colors are available for children to paint pretty much anything they want. This phone app is perfect for kids who love to draw or paint. Not to mention, this is a great way for kids to play with paint without spilling or messing up a thing.

Whack-A-Mole

Whack-a-Mole for your phone is just like the original game. The object is to whack each mole as it appears from a hole. Simple, but perfect for kids of all ages. Even parents will enjoy Whack-A-Mole.

Zen Garden

Zen Garden is yet another creative phone app for children. Children of all ages can use their fingers to draw images in the virtual sand. Even children under five will enjoy playing Zen Garden.

Cute Math

This phone app is both fun and educational. Cute Math uses games to teach children basic math skills such as counting, subtraction, addition, division and multiplication. Even older children will enjoy the games, while reinforcing their math skills.

Toddler Teaser

For young children, Toddler Teaser is a dream come true. Instead of written instructions, game instructions are spoken so children still learning to read can play. Basic challenges are given to toddlers such as identifying shapes and colors. This game is best for children under five years old.

Subway Shuffle Lite

Subway Shuffle Lite is both a fun and addicting phone app for kids. The object is to move obstacles out of the way of the subway train. This game requires logic skills to successfully move obstacles, so it is perfect for older children and even adults.

The Wheels on the Bus

Many parents may run away screaming from this app, but kids will find it extremely entertaining. Kids can sing along with the classic tune in multiple languages and can even record their own voice as they sing. If you're looking for a quiet app, The Wheels on the Bus is not for you. However, if the noise doesn't bother you, let the kids sing away.

Bejeweled

Bejeweled works similar to the classic arcade game Tetris. The object is to match up jewels in order to remove them from the screen as quickly as possible. Multiple game modes are available to help make Bejeweled as simple or challenging as your kid wants. Bejeweled is a great phone app for kids of all ages.

Your child doesn't have to have their own phone in order to play these games. You can download this apps onto your own phone to better monitor how often and long kids play with phone apps.
