You know you want to be a stock car racer when:
You challenge your kindergarten classmates to one lap around the playground, winner takes all. Then, as you take your victory lap, you spray all your friends with your juice box!
As a kid, your favorite way to ride your bike was to find the shortest block in your neighborhood and ride around it as fast as possible...only making left turns the whole way. When asked why you do this, you think it is perfectly normal.
At the amusement park, while riding the bumper cars, you take it too far and start trading paint with strangers, determined to beat them to the make believe finish line.
When sitting at a red light, in the front row, you insist on revving your engine and peeling out to beat the other person off the line. Then, as you revel in your winnings, you see the flashing lights behind you and pull over for a mandatory caution... to autograph your ticket.
When exiting the freeway on a cloverleaf, you notice bumpers, tire parts or old soda cans in the roadway and mutter to yourself, "Debris in turn two!"
When stopping for gas, you fill your tank, check the pressure in your tires and drive away in 14 seconds flat! Muttering to yourself you can do better.
As a small child, you put numbers on all of your die cast cars and then try to sneak them in the dryer... your Mom always foiled your plans at the ultimate race...
On a long road trip, sitting between your sisters, "Daytona" and "Fontana", you realize that the dog "Dega" just yacked. You look up to tell your Dad and notice he is wearing racing gloves and a helmet while driving the minivan. This is normal for your family.
Your first words were, "Green, green, green... go, go go!"
The first words you taught your newborn were, "Boogity boogity boogity, let's go racin' boys!" from Darrel Waltrip.

Post a CommentI hope things will be back to normal now - at the beginning of this week, I thought I lost a filling - and it kept making my head foggy - turns out I broke a tooth - found out 'cause I went to the dentist yesterday and got it fixed. Now am starting to feel back to normal.
