"Danger Mouse"
"Danger Mouse" is the greatest British cartoon I have ever seen. Okay, so it's the only British cartoon I've seen but it's truly great. As a child I just thought it was a fun superhero mouse but now that I revisited it as an adult it turns out "Danger Mouse" is quite witty.
"Sealab 2021"
The first season of "Sealab 2021" was one of the highlights of Adult Swim. Captain Murphy had a lot of zany adventures that included time travel, a Predator-like monster and a vending machine.
"Space Ghost Coast to Coast"
The concept of "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" was genius. Take an old washed up superhero cartoon character and give them a talk show where they can have hilarious interviews with every celebrity ranging from Randy "Macho Man" Savage to Bjork.
"Voltron"
Just when Voltron fans thought a group of giant robot cats was cool they suddenly combine into one giant robot. I think just about every child during that time may have peed in their pants the first time they saw Voltron. G. I. Joe and Transformers were more popular overall but anybody that had the entire set of Voltron action figures was the most popular kid in the neighborhood.
"Jetsons"
On one hand the "Jetsons" is one of the most iconic animated programs of all-time. On the other hand, the "Jetsons" are responsible for everyone expecting flying cars in the future.
"Transformers"
By now anybody that has not heard of "Transformers" is living in a cave somewhere. The Transformers have now been a successful toy line, animated series and series of live action movies. I find the Transformers to be a bit overrated but there is no denying their popularity.
"Futurama"
'Futurama" does not deliver action to its viewers like most sci-fi television shows but instead entertains fans with its humor. Bender and Frye would rank high on a list of best animated sci-fi characters even though they wouldn't stand much of a chance fighting against Voltron or Optimus Prime.
"Samurai 7"
I supposed a more passionate fan of anime could easily fill this entire list with their favorites. Anime never resonated with me as much but there are a few exceptions. The anime retelling of Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" is a fun romp between samurai and giant robots.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"
As a child, the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" were entertaining because they were colorful, silly, liked pizza and because they could kick butt. After watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as an adult I learned that the show was actually pretty smart with many jokes that children surely would not have understood yet at their age.
"Cowboy Bebop"
I've always been a sucker for a good western but Cowboy Bebop was the first time I experienced the space western. A television show featuring bounty hunters tracking criminals through space? Genius!
