1. Car pooling is great ideal for gas saving. You may find friends or colleagues from your neighborhood to share your gas burden. You may drive alternately or arrange a rotating schedule.
2. Nowadays the public transportation system is very convenient and more affordable. Checkout the public transport available in your area and the service schedule. You may need to get up earlier and allow more time to commute to and from work. This is also a good ideal to take a short nap or relax while on your way since you are not driving.
3. Do your gas pricing research before heading to gas station. You may search on the internet instead of driving around looking for the cheapest station. Keep in mind that a few cents different may add up a lots in the long run.
4. Remove all unnecessary stuff from your vehicle. Any excess weight will consume more fuel to get your vehicle in motion. It's time to clean up all unwanted materials from your vehicle to stop paying extra for the dragging fuel.
5. Start your engine when everyone is ready to go. Don't let your car idling if you need to wait for more than 30 seconds. Idling can consume more fuel. It's more fuel efficient by off the engine first and restarting it later.
6. Check your car alightment regularly. Poor car alightment may decease fuel efficiency. When tires are out of alightment, they are all pulling in different directions, and causes drag on the car. More drag, less gas mileage, and less gas saving.
7. Quickly accelerating and decelerating exhausts more gas than driving at a steady speed. Utilize cruise control if your car has it. Accelerate gently and stop gently will increase your engine efficiency. The more efficient your car can run, the more fuel you'll be able to save.
8. Plan your journey in advance. Choose the shortest route, less uphill and downhill route, less curving route and less traffic light route whenever possible. Avoid peak hour driving and traffic jam. You car will run on better mileage and you will be better off.
9. Don't let air conditioning always on maximum. This can reduce car mileage significantly . You can try using the air condition on maximum to cool off the car then switching it to normal.
10. Remove items that cause wind resistance, such as luggage racks located on top of the car. Also, keeping your car clean or proper waxed allows the vehicle to glide through the air with less wind resistance.
Start practicing it and monitor your mileage improvement. They are quick, easy to follow and you can do it by yourself. These are some of the thing you can implement to save gas and money.
