10 iPhone Games that Are Sure to Entertain Kids

No matter where you go, bringing enough things to keep the kids occupied is often inconvenient and usually a fail. Without having to carry extra bag of supplies or breaking the bank, here, listed in alphabetical order, are 10 great low cost iPhone applications that are available through iTunes that will keep kids entertained.

1. ABC Animals

Learning can be fun too. With cute graphics, children can get extra practice in learning their alphabet while using the iPhone. The game features flash cards to help recognize letters, a tracing mode to practice writing the alphabet in both lowercase and uppercase letters, and audio feedback. A bargain at $1.99.

2. Airport Mania: First Flight

This title which also has a home on the Mac, and the Windows PC, is available for $2.99. The game offers 48 levels of play in multiple airports where landing, unloading, loading, and taking off are all in a day's work for a plane. With a whimsical look and feel, game play is based on time management, color matching, and more.

3. Dizzybee

With touch and tilt controls, the goal of this fun game is to guide your bee through level after level to rescue the fruits and guide them to the exit safely. This is done while wandering through mazes and of course avoiding the baddies. For additional fun be sure to check out Dizzybee 2 for more adventures. Available for $2.99 each.

4. Jelly Car 2

Featuring uniquely hand drawn graphics, this sequel to the original game is controlled via touch and tilt. Players can create their own puzzles and mazes, and guide their jelly car through a bizarre world that they can stick to, float in, squish in and more.

5. Mad Libs

Remember collecting Mad Libs books as a kid? Well, times have changed and Mad Libs is now available for the iPhone. The game comes in a free "lite" version to get your mind warmed up with silly fill in the blank fun storytelling fun. A paid version for $3.99 offers numerous stories for hours of enjoyment.

6. Monster Mix & Match

Kids can build their own custom monster with this $1.99 application. Swap heads, legs, and torsos or shake the phone to get a random monster. Kids can choose a unique background and create a photo album of their best creations. With addictive play, there are over 27000 possible monster combinations!

7. Pickin' Time

In a test of speed and skill, vegetables must be picked as quickly as possible in a virtual garden in solo play, or against Harold the Bunny. Multiplayer mode is supported with more than one player on a device or through a WiFi connection. With nonstop game play based on speed and coordination, this game provides timeless quality fun for only $1.99.

8. Preschool Adventure

For a low price $0.99, how can you go wrong? With bright visuals, and containing six areas of educational enjoyment, kids will not only have fun, but will learn as well while playing games based on colors, numbers, matching, body, shapes, and sounds.

9. The Pianist

What child doesn't like banging away on the piano? Rest assured, if there is a piano around they'll find it. Although it isn't exactly a game, with this neat little application that features realistic looking 3D keys, kids can play freely, record, and inspire themselves to write the next great musical masterpiece. Available for $3.99 through iTunes.

10. Wheels on the Bus

With five available languages, this timeless nursery rhyme is now an interactive storybook, and is on the iPhone for $2.99. Featuring cute graphics, kids can follow the nursery rhyme, play instruments and record themselves.
