Its sunny, its bright, plan on going out with kids? The young one is cranky, you wore the wrong slippers and in rush you forgot to lock the door.

This happens to most of us with young infants and toddlers around. If you were planning to go fishing, camping, to the beach, to the pool, take a hike, go to a zoo the mall or just to the local park of your town, with kids it's never certain that your planning went all perfect. Last minute rush could be very hectic and can ruin your day's activities sometimes. These few tips can ease down those hiccups and cool you down for rest of the day. Just keep a magnetic pad handy on the refrigerator to list out these things you will always need before you go out. Even if you have your backpack ready, its always a good idea to look at this list of extras and cross check everything in your backpack. This way you can plan even at the last minute for the unexpected ride ahead. Along with the necessary items, equipments you might require, do not forget about these little helpers:

1) Water bottles:
When its too hot outside and you plan to stay outside a little longer, its obvious that you get thirsty and dehydrated easily. Even though you might think that you can buy it in the store, carrying it along will not only save you money but your time too. Always carry extra water in kids sipper cup to make sure that they can drink easily. Even if you have pack of water bottles in car, the water gets too hot , undrinkable, unfit by UV rays.

2) Hat:
Tanning is best enjoyed near pool or beach when you have enough time to relax. Going out with kids takes lot of energy out of you. A hat not only protect you and kids from direct sun exposure but can mean less wearing out for you. It keeps those soft hair protected from sun too.

3) Sunglasses:
As lot of moisture is drained from our body by the heat and sun, eyes wear out easily. Keeping the glass on will keep those eyes safe and healthy. Some kids do not prefer to wear them . Those who do like to wear them, make use of it and put on their little cute faces.

4) Extra set of kids clothing:
You cannot expect when a child would see the water and splash it all over him or he might just throw up in car seat after gulping the sipper full milk down the throat. Take along an extra set of clothes for the toddlers and infants. This way you wouldn't have to worry about the unexpected mess.

5) Sunscreen Cream:
Even if you had applied it before leaving from the home, you might need to apply the sunscreen every 2 hrs if stayed in the sun. Keep kids sunscreen in the handy section of the backpack. Though you cannot expect them to be much interested in the cream while they are enjoying their swing, all you need to do is keep trying to get it on.

6) Kids Shoes:
If you find your kids tiny slippers cute and couldn't wait to show off this summer, do not forget to carry those old pair of shoe and socks. The play area, Parks, Hiking places are not slipper friendly and you never know what can hurt those little feet. Wearing shoe can keep their feet off the bugs, pebbles and save those soft nails from getting hurt.

7) Cloth Napkin:
With so much buzz around about going green, its not very sensible to use and throw the tissues while you and kids plan to spend the day out. Keep 1 or 2 cloth napkins in your pockets to wipe off any sweat, dirt on your kids. This way you don't have to worry about looking for garbage to throw used tissues or run to your car to get some when the little one has got mulch all over him.

8) First Aid/ Medicines:
In all the excitement of weekend weather, its possible to forget our prescription medicines or any necessary medications. If you or your child is on any medication, be sure to keep it with you. Also, its always a good idea to have all the necessary first aid stuff like band aids, antiseptic, etc in a Ziploc bag.

9) Snack Pack:
Unless you are going in a street fair or planning on for barbecue in a park, its very unlikely that you will find something for your kids to eat as soon as they get tired and hungry. Chances are you might either need to compromise for the sugary stuff from vending machines or spend the time in some restaurant. Even you might be hungry after running with kids in park playing ball, taking a hike for 30 minutes or not able to have any luck with the fishes. Try keeping few energy packed food like Bananas, Nuts, granola bars or even goldfish crackers if it works for you .

10) Plastic Bags:
Sometimes you cannot carry too much at once. Keeping a bag handy can be useful as almost anything from collecting garbage to keeping the accessories . Keep few extras in the car too for the next outdoors.

These things might look familiar and trivial, but this checklist can save you those precious moments you might spend with the family. Next time you head out even down to your community pool , carry these with you and save the time and money.
