10 MORE SEXY SISTAHS of SITCOMS

Since I first posted my list 10 Sexiest Sistahs of Sitcoms, http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/6026506/10_sexiest_sistahs_of_sitcoms.html?cat=2 I received many, many emails reminding me of several other sexy sistahs that deserve some love. When I first wrote my list, which was inspired by the lack of women of color from the Maxim.com Sexy Girls of Sitcoms, I had no idea the attention it would attract.

My goal was to make a point about how list like this leave out women of color or women who fit a certain profile. My problem with that is I have a daughter and two step daughters, and I don't want beauty to be defined by these lists. I don't want them growing up, taking all sorts of steps to look a certain way and not embrace the natural beauty they have. So in an interest to all my young females of color I present part two- 10 More Sexy Sistahs Of Sitcoms.

I already know, since we come in all shades, sizes and colors, there will be many who are included. Please keep the comments and emails coming. I want to hear from all of you. What you feel about what Hollywood and the media tell us beauty is. Tell me what you think of both lists and who else you feel I left off the list. Thanks to my boys, Carlton Dozier and Curtis 'Karma' Brown who I can always count on when I do a list like that for reminding me of a few, I missed. You two inspired this second list! Enjoy and again thanks for all the feedback! Here are 10 more sexy sistahs of sitcoms in no particular order (although the first one was a strong number one for me personally for years).

1. BerNadette Stanis (Thelma of Good Times)

First let me apologize to all the brothers over 25-30 who grew up on Good Times. Thelma was the vision of beauty, smart, sexy and even though she lived in the projects, she was far from a hoodrat. Takented ballet dancer. I could go on for days so, I couldn't start another list whithout making her number one. She was definitely one of the sexiest sistahs of sitcoms and will continue to be, no matter who graces the small screen.

2. Garcelle Beauvais ( Francesca 'Fancy' Monroe of the Jamie Foxx Show)

To quote my boy Carlton Dozier, who can forget the 'Haitian Sensation' Fancy from The Jamie Foxx Show and to quote Maxim again she is "...the perfect combination of hot and hilarious. But mostly hot."

3. Wendy Raquel Robinson (The Game & The Steve Harvey Show)

If you have any question why she is one this list, just check the BET promos for The Game, with her in them white pants and if you still gotta ask, that's on you.

4. Lisa Raye (Neesee James of All Of Us)

The lovely Lisa Raye in All Of Us definitely filled the Maxim criteria "...the perfect combination of hot and hilarious. But mostly hot." Best known by the fellas by her role in The Player's Club this actress of African American and Native American descent definitely did her thing on the small screen.

5. Demetria McKinney (Janine Payne on Tyler Perry's House of Payne)

Honestly I don't know if I ever knew her name and again shout to Carlton telling me. She deserves to be on this list. The African-American actress, singer, songwriter, model and dancer is also a recording artist and recently released her first official single titled Stay. The song is available to hear on her MySpace page. She is also a member of the Soul Kittens Cabaret. Now that I know the name I won't forget it now.

6. Jada Pinkett Smith (Lena James of A Different World)

Before she and Will Smith became a Hollywood power couple, the nearly five foot tall actress of West Indian, Creole, African-American and Portuguese Jewish ancestry was best known as the feisty freshman from the Baltimore projects, who was short, sexy and full of high energy charm.

7. Lauren Velez (Detective Nina Moreno of New York Undercover)

Don't get it twisted when I say sistahs, I'm speaking of women with color, not just African-Americans. I had to include the Lovely Latina, Lauren Velez. Technically New York Undercover is not a sitcom (situation comedy), it was a drama, but hey this is my list.

8.Tamala Jones (Yvonne of The Hughleys & Bobbi Seawright of For Your Love)

Tamela Jones was ...the perfect combination of hot and hilarious. But mostly hot, on both The Hughleys and For Your Love. The 5' 4' poised African-American actress with bright eyes and smooth skin was voted as one of The 10 Sexiest Women of the Year in 2000 and 2001 by Black Men Magazine. That alone was enough to make the list.

9. Janet Jackson ( Willis's steady girlfriend Charlene of Different Strokes)

Being the same age as Janet I thought she was sexy back then and thought Willis was a fool for not wanting to have sex with her. Even in her 40's she is still sexy.

10. Nicole Ari Parker Kodjoe (Teri Joseph of Soul Food)

Last but not least Nikki Kodjoe an actress African American and Native American (Cherokee) descent round off the list. Again the Showtime series is classified as a drama not a situation comedy (sitcom) but again this is my list!
