10 Movie Quotes that are Inspiring to Me

1. Hannibal Rising

A newbie in the world of Hollywood, Hannibal Rising tells of a young Hannibal Lector, and all the tradgedies that befall him. In the last few scenes, he tells his "girl" that he loves her and her response is so moment defining, that it makes one think of their past relationships and the bad times they held.

"I love you." "What is left of you to love?"

2. Ed Wood

A wonderful movie by Tim Burton, Ed Wood inspired me to never give in, and this lecture was presented in a humorus and cutely perverse way.

"Why spend your life making someone else's dream?"

3. From Hell

Another Johnny Depp film, he portrays Inspector Freddie Aberline, the detective assigned to discover the idenity of Jack the Ripper. This quote gave me chills, in a nostalgic way. It was as if it was a prediction to the near future.

"Men will look back and say I gave birth to the 21st Century."

4. Batman Returns

Yes, I love Tim Burton, but he well deserves it. Catwoman is deliciously wicked and the Penguin is disgustingly crude. The quote that the Penguin says is sorta of a wake up call for people who think inside the box.

"But when it comes down to it, who's holding the umbrella?"

5. 3oo

This action flick caused quite a sensation is several entertainment areas, but that doesn't take away from it's hardcore quality. A lot of the quotes capture the intensity of war and the blood involved with fighting in one. I felt braver, even a little dangerous. This got me "reved up" so to speak.

"...for tonight, we dine in hell!"

6. Moulin Rouge

A seductive musical about the famous French Gentleman's Club. It gives way to a intimate love story, involving the club's most famous star and a penniless writer. When he feels jealously, he becomes enraged and is determined to "pay her back" I felt like this before, trying to make a point in leaving forever.

" Tell me you don't love me!"

7. The Phantom of the Opera

A classic, this flick tells of the Opera Popularie's ghost and his murderous obession with the new starlet, Christitne Daae. Their love-hate relationship relates to me all too well, and this quote really shows in his dedication, and maybe it's too dedicated.

"..You only can make my song take flight..."

8. Memoirs of a Geisha

Oscar worthy film, Memoirs of a Geisha, tells of the hard life for Geishas, involving art, hate, and unconditional love. Here, this quote, is all but false. It's sadly, very true.

"Every step I have taken has to bring myself closer to you."

9. Hot Fuzz

Simon Peg and Nick Frost are geniuses and this movie proves it. With the main character's ending relationship coming into play, it showed some of us that it's hard to devote yourself to something you love, but then find something else you love and treat it as well.

"You just can't switch off, can you?"

10. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

This awesome '70s movie made us all kids again, with the wonderful fake candy and the slightly exciting Oompa Loompas. The songs were all inspirational and they made you think. This quote made me realize the world can be a beautiful place; if you look hard enough.

"If you want to view paradise, simply look around and you will."
