10 Movies to Move Your Heart

Karri Watson
Titanic entwines the doomed ship's story with a romance that shows sometimes true love requires self-sacrifice. Gone with the Wind is the implausible story of a vixenish woman who falls for the good guy when deep down she wants the bad boy. Lady and the Tramp yeah okay, it's animated but I dare you to find a more romantic film moment than when they met in the middle for a spaghetti kiss. Casablancagives us the immortal line "Play it Again Sam" and perfectly captures the self-inflicted torment people put themselves through when their grand love is gone. The Philadelphia Story is about a woman (played by the "Great Kate" Hepburn) torn between the practical boyfriend and the fiery ex-husband. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner explores love in a bi-racial relationship with an undercurrent for those in the know about the Hepburn/Tracy romance. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is a hot & kinky love affair between two assassins. It is yet another movie with an onset romance. Twilight is a romance made erotic by the forbidden nature of the lovers with the Human/Vampire dynamic heating up the action. BrokebackMountainis an exceptional love story with brilliant performances, believable love scenes and tears from the audience. It is a brave examination of the sameness of homosexual and heterosexual love. Finally, number one is City Lights, one of the many masterpieces created by the immortal Charlie Chaplin. I dare you to not be moved by the sweet selfless love the little Tramp shows the blind flower girl.
