#10 Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is the third installment of the hugely successful Pirates movies. In the last movie we were left with a Cliff Hanger and now everyone will want to go see what will become of Captain Jack Sparrow and the rest of the crew. Reasons to see it, well probably the most beautiful cast ever with Depp, Bloom and Knightley playing in some of the most energetic scenes of the summer. Come on you know its going to be the best movie of the summer and probably gross 325 million.
#9 Shrek the Third another must see and probably the only movie that has a shot at out grossing Pirates. Going to be a great movie, pretty much anything where Mike Meyers is one of the main writers, it will be smartly funny. With the likes of Eddie Murphy (Donkey) and the lovable Puss n Boots (Banderas) this one will be better than the first and second.
#8 Live Free or Die Hard fans of the series will love it, and even the new generation should go watch this movie, a new fan base will be created. We get John McClain (Bruce Willis) back in action and in this movie any form of automobile will get blow up or crashed into each other. It won't have Samuel Jackson but you get an equally good counterpart in Timothy Olephant. Going to be great if you like action you will love this movie Yippee Ki-Yee!
#7 Captivity staring Elisha Cuthbert as a model who gets kidnapped by a serial killer along with her chauffer and then they fall in love, like ya do. Why see it well I already said Cuthbert is in it do you need more reasons? Ok fine if you like gruesome stuff like Saw you will like the movie. Also come on what fresh idea a love story entwined with a horror script who has ever seen that? Ok so the only good reason is Cuthbert, so sue me.
#6 Mr. Brooks with Costner as your typical standup citizen, and add in an alter ego who loves to kill and then throw in Dane Cook as a voyeur who blackmails Costner. I put this on the list because of the Dane Train and if you know Cook then you know what I am talking about; his massive following is going to go see him in his first serious role anyway so this is sure to sell well. Also Costner normally makes good movies, exclude the Postman and Water World, Please. It's going to be interesting to see Dane Cook try a serious role it might be good it might be bad but either way SuFi (again fans get it).
#5 Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix probably the last movie they can do before the kids are too old for these movies so hopefully they kill Harry. I haven't even seen a Potter movie but it makes the list because of the legion of fans that are sure to see it. That's the only reason it made the list.
#4 The Simpson's Movie after 18 years they finally sold out and made a movie. Who knows if it will be good or not but its worth going and seeing because I am guessing that this is final proof the series has jumped the shark and wont be around much longer. Besides who doesn't like the Simpson's 18 years on the air and still has a huge fan base.
#3 Transformers - It's the Transformers do I need to say anything else? Fine how about this Michael Bay is the director so you know its going to have lots of explosions, Spielberg is in no the movie as well what is he famous for again? Oh yeah his awesome movies and special effects, and then throw in a touch of George Lucas and you pretty much get the dream team of directors for this movie. It's going to be great and if that still isn't enough Shia LaBeouf is a great young actor and Dane Cook is making a cameo...enough said.
#2 I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry well let's see put two hysterical comedians (Adam Sandler and Kevin James) in an Odd Couple situation and you will get comedy gold. Sandler and James pretend to be gay for insurance reasons then have to prove they are gay so they don't get in trouble, why hasn't this movie already been made? If the comedy of James and Sandler isn't enough then don't forget Jessica Biel is in it and strips off her clothes...yeah now you will see it.
#1 Good Luck Chuck a movie about a guy Chuck (Dane Cook) who was cursed when he was 10 by some Goth chick, the curse is that every woman Chuck gets with leaves him and then marries the next guy she meets. Chuck decides to help women who can't find love, by dating them and then dumping, and then of course they get married. Chuck doesn't mind until he meets Cam (Jessica Alba) and he doesn't want her to marry anyone else, he has to break the curse. Ok so Dane Cook in another starring role, romantic comedy with the sultry Jessica Alba (this time he got a Jessica that can actually act). Dane Cook has roughly 2 million Myspace friends I am guessing this movie will do well.
So these are some movies you should see this summer and I know there are plenty of you whining about movies that weren't on the count. Spiderman isn't on it because it comes out the day I wrote this and this wouldn't be published in time, yes its going to be awesome don't get your panties all wound up.
If you think Delta Farce should be on the list, then I am shocked you have the mental capacity to even use a computer. Any movie with Larry the Cable Guy should go straight to DVD then to the $5.50 bin at Wal-Mart, can anyone even remember the name of his last movie (if you can call it a movie, I would rather watch something written by two of the three writers of Scary Movie, or even Gigli, yeah he is that bad).
Hostel Part II, the first one sucked out loud and I am sure the plot will be the same an hour of wasted dialog that has nothing to do with the movie and then 20 minutes of gruesome crap and an escape, worthless.
Evan Almighty, it's a spin off and the character has changed from a cocky jerk to a family man with values, it won't be as good as the first and it will just let me down. However Steve Carell is awesome and will make it a very decent movie, just not a must see.
Fantastic 4: what ever the new name is, just because Jessica Alba is in it doesn't make it good. The first one sucked this one will suck and every other one from this point on will be horrible, if you like it then you're a soft skulled moron.
Ocean's Thirteen so the first one was good, the second one was borderline bad and this one will just be the same crap over again. We get it these guys like to pull elaborate heists but the last one was weak and not that shocking or well thought out. I guess the one good point would be they could do an amazing job on this and put some new life into the Ocean.
No Reservations a sappy love story that will make a great date movie but cant be considered blockbuster material, sorry.
I Know Who Killed Me with Lohan pre and post rehab, might be ok it has lonelygirl15 from Youtube in it, tell me is that for ticket sales? Who knows, anyway plot is thin, Lohan in a psychological thriller?
Halloween - When is this going to end? They couldn't even make a good version with Jamie Lee Curtis back in the lineup!
The Comebacks - otherwise known as Little Giants, Bad News Bears (any of them), and any other long shot to win team sport movie.
Well now you know what movies you need to see this summer, enjoy.
