I can only imagine 3-5 generations passing; with Biblical knowledge retained, without the existence of the Bible. This is of course considering all Holy Books are lost or destroyed at the same time. Other than this, the point would be moot as spirituality will always exist.
#2) No more preaching the Gospel:
Revelation 14:6 and I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people. What's the purpose of an Everlasting Gospel, to be preached to people, if there are no people around?
#3) No need to do anything, everything's done:
See #'s 1 & 2
#4) God is finished interacting with man:
Would an Eternal Father ever be finished interacting with His Creation?
#5) No more sin, death, dying, disease, destruction, violence, etc...
One common misconception is that there is no Sin or Dying in or on the "New Earth" I offer Isaiah 65:17-20
For, behold, I create NEW HEAVENS and a NEW EARTH: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
This can be and has been interpreted many different ways but I choose to see the plain context involved: People living, Sinning existing and people being accursed.
#6) My body is supposed to be glorified and immortal.
When did Christ experience immortality? After physical death, right? Are we any better than Christ? Do we deserve anything better than Christ? This belief is widely; in not solely base upon the premise of our being physically resurrected, primarily believed since Christ was physically resurrected.
.
Ecclesiastes 3:20-21
All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward to the earth?
#7) The Holy Spirit is no longer present or inside believers:
Didn't Paul say our bodies are the Temple that houses the Holy Spirit? Didn't Paul say believers' are the Temple of God? Didn't God promise to dwell within His believers?
#8) All Biblical Prophecy has been fulfilled:
I guess this would be dependant upon one's interpretation & understanding of Fulfilled. If Preterism teaches that time, mankind & the planet exist forever (according to scripture) and given that Isaiah 9:7 says the increase of God's Government & peace would never end: Wouldn't that make us and each succeeding generation, living & on-going prophecy?
#9) Preterism must lead to Universalism:
This is possibly the dumbest assumption & assertion I have heard for or against Preterism. Universalism exists in cultures, religions or beliefs worldwide. In addition to this fact; there are numerous (including myself) Full Preterist's who do not embrace the idea of Universal Salvation.
#10) We're supposed to be living in Heavenly Bliss on the "New Earth"
Isaiah 65:20 there shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. Isaiah 65:17-20 speaks of the New Heavens & New Earth, Isaiah sees Sinning & Dying in the New Earth. Why doesn't the futurist "Church" (as large) teach this but insist on a New Earth where everything is peaceful and sin or dying no longer occurs.
Sinning, Dying, Disease, Crying, Violence, Lying, etc... None of these exist within the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom is within (state of mind) and a place or state of being (not state of mind) we enter upon & apart from the flesh. We're to spend eternity with God: Is God a physical being that can be seen & touched? Or is He spirit?
