10 Natural Ways to Help You Fall Asleep

Lauren Robertson
Sometimes we have such busy days it seems to follow us to sleep as well. There are many different reason why people can't sleep at night but there are also many different natural ways to help you fall asleep. Natural ways are usually better to use than over the counter medicines, because most over the counter medicines are also designed to treat some kind of pain and will almost always leave you feeling groggy and almost hung over in the morning when you wake up. The reason for this article is to list a few different ways to help you fall asleep naturally.

1. One word, tea. There are so many different types of tea that can help you fall asleep, there are a few listed here.
Chamomile tea
Valerian root tea
Catnip tea
and Hops tea.

2. A really great and well known way to help sleeping problems is milk. A warm glass of milk can really help you fall asleep, I'm not sure why it works but I know from experience that it does.

3. You should also try eating much lighter before bed time. When you eat heavy amounts of food before going to sleep it can just make you feel bloated and uncomfortable which will not help you sleep at all.

4. Also before sleep try to avoid anything with caffeine, tobacco, and alcohol in it. Which also means that if you decide to drink tea before bed make sure it does not have caffeine in it, because caffeine can keep you up all night.

5. Make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable. Make sure you have enough comfortable pillows and a comfortable mattress as well.

6. Sometimes a little bit of a change will help you get to sleep better. If you are used to sleeping with the TV on try sleeping with it off. You have no idea how much it can actually keep you awake. Same goes if you listen to the radio when you sleep too.

7. If you would prefer to listen to music while sleeping try something relaxing like classical music or something else very soft sounding. Maybe sounds of the ocean or something like that.

8. Taking an aromatherapy bath will help really well. It can get rid of any stress and tension that is preventing you from falling asleep.

9. Try reading a few chapters out of a good book, sometimes reading can really help relax and settle you down so that your mind is ready for sleep.

10. One of the easiest and most common way to help out is by not oversleeping in the morning, because if you oversleep in the mornings you will almost always lose sleep at night.

Hopefully this article has been informative and helpful. I hope that it can help you relax and get a good night's sleep.
